Thanks, just tried it too.
So tonight I swapped out pickups in my MF touch guitar. I plugged into the computer to quickly try different sounds and muted the direct input so I could use my Helix plugin for a basic tone. And ****ing Live 12 seems to still add latency that I don’t get in Bitwig or Logic. I was so hoping that was fixed. But it’s not.
As to the pickup, it’s the Delano soapbar. I was finding the Nordy Zen Blade too mellow and it still was picking up hum despite being in series. The Delano is dead quiet. And it’s got a nice bit of ceramic grind.
Well, this looks cool. I like my regular Superego, might have to give this one a try. Video is like 6 years old, wow, has it really been that long since this came out?
Yeah, that works but I wanted to use software FX on the guitar, which alas, isn’t very much fun due to aforementioned latency issue.
I found a video a while back the had a workaround that was “decent”
If I have the courage to do some digging I’ll share it here for sure.
The latency issue with live is due to it treating audio like midi.
(Whatever the &$?/@&$ that means)
I lost way too much time in the past trying to fix this problem and completely abandoned the idea.
I can still put hours on my instrument everyday but I’ve lost all patience for that crap now.

This is the way, honestly. There is no long-term life reward to figuring out the "trick" to make software work like it should. Every hour of woodshedding is a gift to all your future selves.
Not much to report - not really much bass playing, definitely no synth or ambient playing. Some ambient listening - I got sucked in to Outland 3 by Pete Namlook & Bill Laswell - hoping to write a blog post about it soon (it also involves the Outer Limits TV show) - but I definitely have some synth & cat action going:
She was a stray in the parking lot at my office - noticed her a week ago (notably on my way back from a Stinkfoot Orchestra concert in downtown Oakland, CA), started feeding her a few days ago, brought her home last night! Took her to the vet, she seems ok without any real analysis done (they were very cool and didn't charge me) - so glad she is off the mean streets! My wife is wary of committing to becoming her guardian/slave - we think she's 8-10 months old - she is adorable, (too?) friendly, pretty needy. Anyone looking for a cat?!!

I hear what you're saying. The problem is, we have taken care of 4 cats in the time we have been married, but they were all "senior" cats. After the first and then second set of siblings died, she was done. But then one appeared that needed us, and we took that opportunity. At that point, it was "no more" and we have been enjoying our freedom for the past 2-3 years. I don't know, it's complex, maybe I'll be able to create ambient electronic stuff about it at some point in the next couple of months...

LOL! Yeah, we are definitely "Failed Foster Parents" ...five or six years ago we agreed to foster a cat "just until a real owner steps up and agrees to home him"
Took about two weeks* for him to completely melt our hearts, and we said "um, nah, he's no longer available, we'll keep him." Best decision we've ever made.
*Two weeks for me; my wife was probably ready within two or three days.
I feel like I can jump in on this because (a) I just put a plain string on a Miezo, and (b) said Miezo used to belong to @monsterthompson
The highest string is a 0.018p tuned to D (D4 maybe? I'm not sure). It doesn't feel terribly out of place, and the thinner string to hit higher registers seems like a more natural fit for the instrument than jamming some fat string in there to try to go really low.
So we named the cat: Mysti (or maybe just Misty?) - I actually also consider her "Silver Bub" - she often resembles Lil' Bub, so I am thinking that she comes from the same planet as Lil' Bub, and crashed her spaceship near my work to begin her work here on earth! Apparently it involves synths, since this box continues to serve as a base of operations:

Last night, at age 54, for the first time ever, for our album launch, I played a venue with its own SVT 8x10. I brought my Orange head, plugged in, and the sound was divine. Best tone I’d ever had. Didn’t hurt that the live sound engineer was a bassist, and the small room was full. Definitely a memory for life.
There is no *****ing way I would ever haul one of those around myself, though.
