Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Is it just me or is that ALOT of menu and page flipping......?????
Live this would be confusing as f@%**

Yeah, but I'm not sure how much is the user showing options.
I'm still considering the Octatrak as a step up from the Tracker. I like the idea of the Tracker, but if I'm gonna drop money on a hardware brain, the Oct has some extra features worth paying for... if the workflow isn't a stumbling block.

I’ve been too blah and uninspired lately to consider significant new gear. The new Hilbish pre wasn’t too bad a choice because I get how it functions. Anything with menu diving and workflow considerations is giving me the glazed over eyeball roll.

Even when inspired and full of $$ the task sux of picking one out of the huge selection available. Each one is so particular and has specific features. (Often very intricate and important details)

There is no one size fits all.

But....what is the best sampler for a vacuum and a garbage disposal??

:bag:

The one with a dust cover and a water seal.

My friend poked this up on Patch Storage. It's a way to turn COVID case data into software synth useable data.
Pretty creative. The audio gets musical around 7:00

VCV is an open source virtual rack software. I'm gonna need to try this.
@ugly_bassplayer it looks pretty free, even for Canadians

Thanks for the heads up!!!
Ill try to avoid balling up in a corner do to the option paralysis of module choices.

Fund demo of how the Tracker works live.

I do alot of live tweaking with my sampler.
It's a required skill imo.
I can't imagine doing that much page and menu flipping on the fly.

Makes the task near impossible imo

I don't know if the digitakt and octatrak are like that. From what I remember they are more "built" with the intention of live tweaking.

Cuckoo doing some live stuff with the tracker. It’s a lengthy track and not something I particularly dig, but it’s not bad. I wish I knew what he was doing with some of the button presses. It ends at 7:45 and he goes into some light discussion about the wave tables he used.

My biggest beef with these videos is the tracker key clacking it’s the gimmick. I get it. But it’s also distracting
