Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

I really dig ableton, been my only daw for over 10 years.

Midi mapping is as much fun as doing my taxes. I should make a preset.....but I'm lazy with boring stuff. Even had an apc40...sold it within 24h since the faders where not automated to remember specific settings in sets. (That one made me....kinda peeved.)

Canadian taxes are just 65% of your paycheck. It isn't hard, but not fun.

MIDI Twister is a good solution for that but a few extra $$$. Loopop has another fancy device that recognizes digital/virtual knob positions from software.

I don't even do my taxes. I pay someone to do them.)

Indeed we got alllllllooooottttt of taxes.....but.....we have certain perks instead.
But i digress.

Never got aboard the Max or push thing either. Maybe i should look em up, its been a few years.

I have the Push 2. Got it with the software bundle. I don’t love it. I tend to avoid it. The Maschine hardware makes more sense to me.

Here’s a strange turn of events. I was looking to upgrade my Izotope 8 Advanced to 9 Advanced. Would cost $99. I noticed a bundle that had a bunch of other things as well. Ozone 9, Nectar 3, Neutron 3, Tonal Balance 2, Insight 2, Voice Synth, RX Standard and other stuff for $399, so I pulled the trigger. I was bummed on quite a few levels and told a music exec/engineer buddy about it.
Ozone 9 is a nice upgrade
Nectar is so so
Neutron still isn’t as good as my Slate stuff
Voice Synth crashes Logic
RX Standard doesn’t have most of the cool features of RX Advanced

He put me in touch with a buddy of his at Izotope who just happens to know of some of my projects. They refunded my $399, but let me keep the software AND upgraded me to RX Advanced (which they sell for $1,200!!!)
Been playing around with RX and it’s absolutely insane so far
