Wow. Back to the stone age tonignt.
I got soo used to my synths.
My band's "noise" manipulation pedal board played by my singer. Used live like a tank.
Crusty and ugly. Haha.

Edit: i coulb maybe cook up a imrov of a sample i made to be used and manipulated live with our band if anyone is interested.

Feel the same way. To me, a DAW was just a multitrack recording interface. I started on an old 4 track, never went digital until I made the leap to protools and a macbook (I still use my digi002 mixing board as my mixing board in my setup). When I recently decided to have a recording setup again I went w an ipad and an IK multimedia iRig DUO which is what I still use into garageband.

For live, I have always been a stickler about creating it all on the spot and I am very into improv which makes every performance my possible best or possible worst. The one exception for me was when I was experimenting w triggering sound samples (mostly voice clips from movies and simpsons and howard stern) during jams. I used to use 2 electrix repeaters that I controlled w a Behringer FCB1010. I had some fairly complex arrangements that I would build and recreate live. Trying to get back to that place.

I’m getting closer to caving on the Polyend Tracker. I’m enjoying the ability to sequence all 6 oscillators on the Medusa independently, and the tracker could help me do that. I can do it with software too, but there are some complications with how I’m setting things up (Max 4 Live might be a solution). Come to think of it, Zoia might be able to do what I want...

It could come down to a Tracker vs Octatrak decision.

I have a whole “concept album” using all vaccuum samples on side A and a garbage disposal samples on Side B.

It adds to the “art” aspect and self expression of using house hold samples..... and......ppfffff hahhahahahaha.

It’s gonna be called “SUCK CUT”

LOL! When I was 14 or 15 years old and first "discovered" the concept of overdubbing -- by recording onto a portable mono cassette deck, then playing that tape back over another cassette deck connected to the hi-fi system in the room while performing the next layer live in the same room and recording the blend onto that portable deck -- I wound up cobbling together an album-length collection of songs [sic] that I titled Variations On Excrement

The family vacuum cleaner factored pretty heavily in the orchestration on that collection.
