Rip
Saw some screen shots.Digging in on the tracking interface of Renoise DAW. It’s a bit of a learning curve with the software but not bad. Hoping to get to a point where I can start creating and not focusing on the “how to” steps. So far, I like the experience. It’s a different machine, for sure. In a way, it’s kinda Buchla-ish with the removal of the piano roll from the interface. Though, it’s still there under the hood.

Blacked out.
Woke up in a ditch.
The hexadecimal values are weird. No 127 midi.
The native effects let you select values as a % which is weird. Vibrato rate of 27%. I haven’t figured out % of what. BPM?
It’s sweet for tiggers with samples. Midi synths behave weirdly. If you trigger C3 on beat one, you can’t enter a note length at that point. You have to go to the place you want the note to stop and enter a “note off” or trigger a new note. Otherwise, the note sustains.
There’s a “plugins active/available” list that starts at number 0 but Tracks start at 1. So your first plugin is on Track 0. Or you could assign it to track 13. I haven’t figured out the value of having the plugin list independent of the track.
LFO Modulation of native effects is easy. Though you pick modulation in % or ms values. No BPM sync or note length values. How do I make an LFO that syncs to a half note rate? It must be possible using %.
Don’t get fooled by the Esc key. If you usually use it to get out of trouble, you’ll be surprised. It arms/disarms recording.
It’s quirky, but not without charm.

Renoise must be dope in the right hands.
How many sequencers are out there?
