Nothing does it better than the EHX Mel9. It's what she uses, and I use it as a base for so many sounds. Part of my sound. I often use an ebow, too, and I like using the choir pads, a lot.Hey y'all, I have been enjoying diving into bands like Noveller, and really enjoy how Sarah Lipstate achieves violin and cello sounds. What effects do you use to achieve a cello type sound, aside from a volume pedal? Do you use overdrive, fuzz, reverb, or anything like that?
I looked around the search bar, but wanted to ask you fine folks what you think currently. Thanks!
The firmware upgrade announced sounds interesting. In fact, it sounds almost like the Velcro on @dukeorock ‘s wallet opening and the credit card sliding out.

Haha! I messed with ReNoise for a few hours once and haven’t been able to bring myself to dive back in, but I suppose that’s another topic (aside from a sorta workflow phobia). The most troubling aspect (for some) is the midi timing when using the Tracker to sequence other instruments. I’m hearing folks claim a consistent 15ms delay, which is way too sloppy for many. It might not bother me, because I’d think that box is best used by staying in its own ecosystem, possibly.
Mo stuff, mo cables, mo problems.......Haha! I’m going back to my roots and picking the jug. Maybe the washboard if I can find a spoon.
Some interesting detail on how the Tracker works, and application in an ambient context.

I’ve even heard just clocking it alongside other machines has the same latency numbers, so unless it can be fixed in firmware (I don’t know how that stuff works), it seriously limits the Tracker. I do suspect if I had one, I would use it standalone anyway. The idea of using its sequencer while simultaneously using the Octatrack’s sequencer is just a bit more complexity than I may be willing to take onI hadn’t heard about the latency. No thanks.

I've skateboarded for over 25 years.oh man, this picture brings me back to early on in quarantine. I'd take my kids bike riding and my son (6 at the time, now 7) is a scooter kid over a bike. He likes to go fast, so I'd take him to the biggest hill in the neighborhood all the time and we'd coast down it and fly through the neighborhood...that is until one day...we started down the hill (it was like in the picture...I'd even get a little anxious before I started) and he started getting wobbly then BOOM - tumble - tumble - tumble...needless to say we don't do that hill anymore.
Roky has been on heavy rotation lately. How did you know?
