My laziness is working in my favor regarding the woodshedding thing. Last few days I've given my brain a tech break and just turned off all my pedals and electronic gear and decided to learn a few old songs I've always wanted to, some simple and some more complex, but all fun. Sometimes it's good to just play bass.
Interesting. Reminds me of this. I don't own one, but I keep thinking about it. Has a CV in for the filter, so in theory you could play it.

I think when I was actually playing with real humans, it was a lot easier.
Went and did that for this song, a few nights ago. Damn, this is one fun song to play, nailed it the second time around...
That's the amazing Ronnie Baker on bass. He was the main session guy for all those amazing Philly soul songs.
I mean, listen to that, it's all over the place, funky as hell, and super sublime.

that was an interesting read. Still considering a Squarp Pyramid, or just looking for the best ITB solution like Ableton
If I didn't use all of the other features in my MPC Live, Squarp would be my choice, or perhaps the Toraiz Squid.
The Roland TR-8S came today! Already looks much more intuitive than the Digitakt. Wish me luck. Between learning this and the Iridium (when it gets here), I don't think I'll be able to leave the house.

Squid has some very cool features. Heck, my Octatrack is a really good sequencer, but the Pyramid seems to take things further on the midi side. Using the Octatrack to sequence it’s own internal sounds is great. Sequencing external midi is good, but not crazy good.
Found out from my order back in June no new sy1,s coming to aus until September... damn you covid... I’m impatient

Yeah,all the time. i live in one of the not-crazy states that takes the COVID thing seriously. Of course, I'm not going where there's any people...just gravel biking, and kayaking, mostly.

Get any soft synth with any keyboard controller and practice some real bass synth stuff.
That will hold off till the gear gets to y’a.

it was a semi-joke. parts of my state take it seriously, parts don’t (you can see those areas spiking right now). that being said, my octagerian mother had to move in here due to some health issues, so i have to be quadruplely careful these days. walks and errands masked up, lots of practice, been reading a history of china 1850-2010, working on a lot of recorded projects for friends and myself.
