Fail.

Spent 2 hours recording synths with various Eq settings and fx pedals.
Closely listening to textures and variations

Recording out was all pre eq, preamp and fader. I took the wrong output cables from the mixer.

Idiot. The are colored EXACTLY SO THIS SHIZZ DOESN'T HAPPEN.
double fail.

2h hours down the drain. To the garbage the files go.

I dunno...there's worse ways to spend 2 hours. Consider it a practice session

True....maybe I can salvage one of the tracks. I think one was "intended' dry signal of to blend with split fx one....?!?!?!

Yeah, unless your synths are frying and melting down, 2 hours in front of a synth is still 2 hours well-spent.

I had gotten the Tensor shortly before I started working on tracks...it's all over it...hahaha. The Context 2 is on a bunch of it as well.

agreed. I don’t worry about not getting stuff down. Sometimes it’s good to let even good musical ideas pass, and come up with more.

But—it does suck when you are trying to record and shag up.

I know that some of us on here get into meta conversations about creativity and how we judge ourselves, but one major change I've done with all of these pandemic hours in the studio is give myself permission to not work. I have some nights I work on mixing things. Others where I record new ideas or work on compositions. Then, other nights where I leave the laptop downstairs, no interfaces, and just PLAY. I used to feel guilty doing that, because I should be writing or working somehow - having something lasting come out of the night's work.

Letting go of that was liberating. Most times, now, I have no idea or intentions when I go up those stairs most evenings.

interesting. to me it's all the same thing.

"just playing" can be a great idea generator, technique builder and time enhancer.

i like to practice/play early in the morning before i really wake up. seems like it helps things flow.

Ya....they where my special weird analog synths.

Wish i could get a hydra desktop though.
The microtonal thing sounds amazing.
May be a bit scared if the learning curve getting in the way of things....but I think i could handle it.

for me the hs is really well laid-out and intuitive. the manual is done really well.

the desktop has pads that have poly aftertouch.

I'm getting pretty annoyed by tweaking virtual soft synth knobs. But man am I surprised how good the moog model D app sounds. Dang it's good.

Side Note:
Think Im goin to drop an EP shorlty, got some tracks ready to go. Finishing up some stuff on them this AM.
More synth stuff, new approaches and techinques....

Still working on solo Bass loop thing, got a crap load of recordings. Waiting on a few "investments" to further the pallet of available colors.

I don't have a hydra synth but as someone who knows synthesis a bit, it looks really well laid out.

As a synth n00b hydra being my first real synth, it is pretty intuitive and designed for live use. Its also pretty easy to get up and making music. There are so many features I havent even explored yet.

It's one of the things that I really find a shame.......

Those incredible boutique pedals are so expensive they are out of reach for many of the most creative people out there, the younger generation coming up and pushing the envelope.

That's why the international bedroom producer phenomenon was made with limited resources and computers. The entire beat/electronic music whatever you call it has been totally revolutionized in the last 20 years.

And it wasnt done with 10 000$ UA comps amd Neve preamps.

Young kid with cheap laptops, samplers , noisy mixers, borrowed gear, awesome ideas and a crap copy of any daw available.

My 2 cents.
