Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Was in a mood to quit and sell everything. A "whats the effin point" mood.
A usual recurring phase I guess, anyways.......
I made this instead of quitting. New approaches....etc.....
Tuff times indeed.

Life is weird.
Some days are tough.
Strange how we can look to the deconstruction or destruction of things we love as a way to deal with feelings of frustration. You’d think those things would bring us comfort.

Stupid meat-suit cpu.

i have tons of friends who like chuck.

i've tried him on a number of occasions and he's never resonated with me.
See, exact opposite with me.
(I mostly read his poems though, always go back to them at some point)
One of my all time favs, major influence.

Always say that's whats awesome about art, we don't all like the same stuff.
I love that aspect. Some things "get" you some just don't. Beautiful thing imo
Would be boring as heck if we did like all the same crap.

;)

Way to go boomers!!!!

Didn’t DBA and EQD do something also?

hahaha.

probably more like millenials or gen x.

most boomers probably want the perfect tube screamer or fuzz face clone.

;)

though a friend was mentioning that he thought that some companies had bots going into the waiting list and buying the pedals, and then they list the pedals for way too much on reverb and ebay.

Did a test run of SonoBus tonight over Ethernet. The audio quality significantly improved. Fewer drops, clicks, and pops. It’s a combination of faster connection than WiFi and how the WiFi sends/receives information packets. I’d highly recommend it for online ambient jamming. It still might be a bit too much latency for a traditional band, but it’s not bad. Next step could be trying a midi over IP connection to sync clocks.

it’ll be a couple months till it’s out (I have beta tested for them before but will hold off for now). A friend who is using the beta said the bit crusher is also really good.
I kind of only use my daw for final mixes and mastering since about a year or so.
Even my audio interface crapped out on me last week.
One more reason to work away from the zombie screen. Got frustrated and bored creating with Ableton.

Ill probably come back to it when I want to change things up. Still use it often for large projects I do for other people.
