Yeah, he kinda lost his fire (no pun intended) after that, with the exception of the Sunset Strip show (the second one, not the aborted first attempt where he quit right on stage).
The milk joke was his response to how he lit himself on fire.
Man, you could easily get 1000 bucks for that on the boutique market if you just hook up with Chase Bliss. They seem to really have that hype-as-product thing nailed.

i'm a bit different than you all. i tend to have different setups based on the project/sound that i'm working on. cuts down on the options anxiety if i narrow my choices. (well, it sounded good, don't know it it's true.)
I have found that as long as each of my synths has its own delay and reverb that's a decent place to start. I occasionally put a fancier modulation or something in the chain when I have a particular sound in mind, but for general purpose delay and verb do alright.
As far as live vs. home studio goes, for a long time I tried to do everything at home in one take so I could "prove" to myself I can play it live.
I don't do that anymore, only when I'm rehearsing for a live show. I hate to say I'm "dumbing down" the live stuff, but I definitely try to simplify the gear setup and have to compensate for the fact that I only have two hands and two feet, controlled by a single, questionably functional, brain.
For recordings I'll swap gear and add layers to the recording as my heart desires, with the full knowledge that certain pieces just can't be done live without recruiting some extra musicians and setting up their gear to rehearse and play it, which isn't something I've been able to do so far.

yeah. I was just playing. Of course a bass website is about music...just like an effects site is also about music. I love gear and gadgets and toys though...honestly, I like this thread mostly for y’all’s opinions. I have been turned on to more new music, ideas, equipment, etc in this thread than any other on talkbass.
hmmm... interdasting. I think if I had unlimited time to spend with my gear experimenting with all sorts of different combinations, I might gravitate towards that sort of approach. But I don't, and so what I desperately try to do is learn/codify/recognize (and then most importantly) /remember which combinations do what, and then I keep that whole litany of sounds in the back of my mind as a library or database of sorts...specifically so I don't have to think about "how do I get this sound?" and/or "is this [hypothetical] sound even available with today's setup?"
And so what that approach necessitates is that I have the whole kit&kaboodle horked up at all times, just so I know via muscle memory what I need to do in order to make [thing] happen.
Which is why I tend to be an All Or Nothing player when it comes to pedals: I do gigs/projects that need a "normal" bass player -- in which case I don't bring any pedals, period -- or I do gigs/projects that need a "whack-ass" bass player (aka, "we need Bob Ross") -- in which case I bring every pedal...which is kinda my only choice at this point, since they're all tied down rather firmly to a couple of pedalboards in a pair of roadcases.
Trust me, I often wish I could go with the different setups per project approach, if for no other reason than to cut down on the size/weight of my rig.

You have definitely some nice tones.
I'm on a dumb quest (i have less than zero gigs and rehearsals) to find something to "thicken" up the guitar side of my dual rig.
Something else than my usual t-rex quint that pumps out the power chords when I need an extra kick.
Dumb fixing stuff that ain't broke.
Got a cool new pedal today, the Pine Box Customs Siren....I quickly hit the wrong switch on my power supply and fried the pedal...that's a first for me!
