Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Patching idea for today.
Nothing magical about the clip, but still thought I'd share. The video doesn't capture the stereo panning that's happening. The idea was to patch the Octasource to the VCA to use it for a modulated volume pattern, then play with the delay settings until a pattern evolved. I wish my fingers could hit/release the "Hold" button on a beat so I could capture a loop in the delay module, but my coordination needs work.

I guess I’m lucky that my wife says she likes my synth explorations. I think she just says that so I’ll unhandcuff her

You know the joke: to determine who is man's best friend, lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car for an hour. When you open the trunk, which one do you think is happy to see you?

(Okay so maybe it's just my face that is an effective girlfriend repellant.)

To this day I remain astonished -- like, seriously gobsmacked -- that my wife will say stuff like "I love bass players! Their parts are always the sexiest!".
Like, seriously?!?! Oh, wait...you married me. Okay. :::shrugs:::

Yeah bass is only cool in funk and soul. Unfortunately I am profoundly unfunky and I don’t believe in the supernatural.

MY daughter apparently heard me snoring the other night and asked my wife if I was playing my bass. Uhhhh

bass players being “chick magnets,” reminds me of this:

i was going on the road with a mid-level rock of the 80s star.

my wife was all worried about the “girls who were gonna be checking me out.”
(uh huh, yeah. lol)

anywho, i say, “remember when we saw joan armatrading? remember the bass player?”

her: “no.”

me: “that’s right.”
