Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Another decay piece, my favorite, thus far. I created the main track, the themes and idea, which was then embellished by an online collaborative group I'm working with right now (that's coming up with some very interesting music, and they're looking for more members, so if you're interested, PM me for the details).

This one, of course, was heavily influenced by the Caretaker - Empty Bliss album, about music and Alzheimers. For this, I was thinking of the moment of death, as it's all shutting down when someone dies of old age. This piece is my interpretation of what a very old person may be experiencing... for my instructions, I gave the collective just a few guidelines, namely, sonic representations of moments of a life that appear for the last time. I was really happy with what they did (dogs barking, the voice of old lovers, etc). That, as well as the confusion and chaos of things shutting down, which is what I really tried to convey with the base track. I made that by taking two crooner tunes from the 1920's and shifting back and forth between the two. What's interesting is how well, by accident, they happened to compliment each other. I think they're in the same key, and even have similar melodic and rhythmic elements, which shouldn't be all that surprising, given the contemporary popular music of the day. A happy accident happens in the first few seconds, where one melody seems to flow right into the other... enjoy.

Also, I finally got the rest of that epic last jam from my duo before the second COVID wave, so I'll be dropping some more tracks on you from that, too. I'm real excited for you to hear them.
