Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

it's funny how all these demos now have props like stuffed animals.

Gotta get the clicks. I’ve noticed some physical therapy pages on IG always have a gimmick like a dog in the background or the person throwing a ball at the camera before the exercise. I’m sure gear builders are well aware of how devices photograph, and they make sure to accessorize “on brand.”

@lordradish -- I am SO happy to hear it's not cancer! And I may be writing on misphonia later this year, in which case I might want to interview you if you're up for it.

On the board front, I can't help you on generators, but on modulation, if you like your H9, I can say that I waited for far too long to use two H9s together. The programming possibilities are incredible and you can probably achieve most of the modulation etc sounds you want out of it.
Yeah, I have a lot of choices, for sure. I definitely underutilize my H9, as most of the time I'm using the Blackhole.

Not only is it not cancer, it's apparently nothing. Thanks.

@lordradish Glad to hear twernt the Big C.

"Talk to the hands"

Unwatchable due to the constant vague hand gestures (if you're going to point out a feature on the unit being reviewed POINT AT IT instead of waggling your fingers all over half the unit's real-estate),
AND
unwatchable due to the William-Shatner-on-Speed delivery.

congrats!!! I really would love to get one myself if I can stop spending so much dough on mountain bikes!

Been pondering selling off most of my eurorack to fund one...hmm

*confused*
First you say you need to stop spending too much on MTBs [really, is there such a thing?],
then you say you're going to sell all your Eurorack to fund yet another one.

I say go for it, sell the Eurotrash and get a sweet titanium hardtail.

As Steubig pointed out, gear's all in how it's used and if it isn't used musically, I too find ring-mod abrasive in a bad way. Ring-Mod is pretty funky when employed by Tim Lefebvre & Wayne Krantz, abrasive in a good way. As much as I like the effect, it is best used in small doses. Very small doses, or it loses its je ne c'est quoi — like any spice, you don't want it overpowering the meal. Tastes differ, and Ring-mod is such a strong spice... I can totally understand if some people don't dig it. Muy picante.

Jamming away tonight.
Medusa sequence into the Erica. Aux send has a Compressimiser, Germ Warfare, Empress Echo System, and empress Reverb.
Tried just grabbing a quick clip to share.

Regarding the replication of things...
My favourite peice I made ill never be able to replicate 100%...
zoom hand held mic to a speaker with 2 delays I don’t own anymore. Boss PS3 I don’t own anymore for the warbly octave up to 2 octave up... OG Proco turbo rat I don’t own anymore and my bass wasn’t tuned so have no idea what tuning it was in... could have been drop A or lower... glad it was recorded cos that’s a Once in a lifetime sound now hah!

Ha! I meant sell some of my more expensive euro modules to fund an Iridium synth as I have a nice steel hardtail and a very nice carbon full suspension bike. But I’d love an awesome TI hardtail to go with my TI road bike. Fairly sure which one I’d get too :)

That’s the one!
