Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Most recent Proem album.
Drone, modular ambient vibe.
He dropped the computer and went back to a minimal modular set up with guitar pedals and contact mics.
Wasn't intended as a release, be he decided to do it anyway.
I dig!!!

There was a local guy around here who used to play sets with just the Octatrack... whenever I see one I think "is this powered by autism or amphetamines?"... jokes aside, that thing seems powerful.

Once you get all the elements you want loaded into the Octatrack, there are so manny things that can be done on just that one machine. Really fun

Thoughts? Pales in comparison, I think. Don't even bother with 3.

Kinda corny. Hollywood definitely ran with it. The kid villain idea. The "acting like a robot" felt exaggerated. Not horrible though.

A very non-ambient influence has passed. Joey Jordison.
I've probably listened to more Murderdolls than Slipknot, but the guy had a legacy any way you look at it.

i had no idea they were that nuts, kinda like that.

the whole promo thing for "tomorrow's harvest" made me think of some the plot of william gibson's "pattern recognition" . . .

Some indie types in the Nashville scene have started a ‘music television’ show called Swill TV. Corny jokes, but reminds me of old public access punk rock shows from way back when. I’ve never bee in into drummers much but he will always leave a legacy to me… his drum work was pretty unique and just memorable on the first two slipknot albums and he wrote some material for the roadrunner United CD as one of the “team captains”… RIP

For those into software, Vallhalla DSP just released a phaser mode for their delay. Super cool. Their reverbs are also among the very best, and it's $50 a plugin. Can't argue with that.

In other news, I just ordered this: 4 ON THE FLOOR CLASSIC BASS OVERDRIVE PEDAL - Genzler Amplification

I’m mostly curious about the voicings and combining the clear and lpf drive.

I was eyeing that. But I ended up doing the Night Owl & Dunwich pedal I didn't need another dirt, but those two making a germanium drive box was too tempting.
