and on another note:
could somebody point me please to a YT video or two, showing what "postrock" exactly is ?

funnily i´m completly the opposite of what a ambient musician is, but every now and then a ambient jam happens, lol.
Since i have the equipment,......and since we have AWESOME tools on the table today.

yeah, small balls, living in another part of the world, that really means these medicine Balls to me ........some of the best money i ever spent in fact.

the thread name needs to add “post-jazz, noise and ask @lordradish”

to me the main focus is about alternative function for bass in music and the tools used to do it.

I’d say tastes here are....eclectic. Avant-garde, jazz, metal, funk, noise, punk, electronic, you name it. The thread title is merely evocative.

It’s a Night Owl Parabellum, which was co-designed by Nick of Dunwich.

It’s a weird, crackly dirt pedal. My first couple of times playing it were kinda confusing, but I’m starting to figure it out. It does multi-band distortion, and the EQ is quite powerful and interactive. Since my initial head scratching, I’ve lost a couple of hours to noodling away. Tonight I found a setting that worked quite well with the OTO BIM & BAM and my Ric 4003.

Have a rare day to myself in a hotel room, so I’ve been following all the new gear at Superbooth ‘21. Some cool stuff for sure. Buchla teaming up with TipTop to come out with a reasonably affordable Buchla 208e system could be sweet. Jomox have an incredible new 4op FM modular synth and filter tracker/sequencer. The UDO Super6 in a desktop format, two new versions of the Hydrasynth, Enjoy Electronics ‘The Godfather’ 4 channel multi effects processor and everyone is raving that new Erica Synths drum machine, but I’d have to hear a lot more demos before even considering shelling out $2k for a drum machine :/

I do love the way the Erica machine looks, but not enough to shell out that kind of dough, since I haven’t heard anything that knocked me out yet. Agreed that Elektron Model:Cycles would be amazing with individual outs. It’s a great drum machine and idea generator and it’s crazy affordable. Pretty much every electronic noisemaker I own is good at drums (Octatrack, M:C, Norand Mono, Kodamo EssenceFM) anyway. I took most of the perc out of my eurorack and only really miss the Jomox kick module I had. It was awesome, but too big and not very modulateable. I really should just ditch my eurorack, but somehow it’s still there

I think it kind of shows where one would head with it, based on how it is conceptionalised *

i find the M:Cycles the for me way more interesting kick machine, if i give it the necessary time.
stupidly i´ve overwritten my patterns with the good kicks.


* i think, after some time will you get them in numbers on the 2nd hand market.
Could be an interesting machine.
But my guess is, that people will have "seen it" quite quickly, losing its initial appeal ( sorry, bad english)

I sold the Jomox after I got the Model:Cycles. That M:C kick is awesome!
The kicks you can make in the Kodamo EssenceFM are awesome too. Guess I must like FM kicks
