Since I'm not familiar with most of the equipment mentioned in that sentence it's not clear to me whether the answer to this is implicit, so: Were these parts sequenced, or played manually...or is there a third option somewhere in between?

I need to be clear that I have no idea what the **** I am talking about. However from my experience as a completely random person with unfounded opinions I want to share on the internet, some luthiers have the equipment to machine their own parts. Costs money and takes time, and you'd need someone ambitious enough to work out the details but I think it could be done. For my MF touch guitar, they had to machine the back plate for the bridge. They did a really nice job!

all live playing. no sequencing. a few edits. mpe is an extended midi protocol that gives possibilities of x-y axis manipulation plus pressure.

it’s the r&d that would be killer. i think the difficulty would be probably needing to have two layers at the tuning end. the headpiece would probably be easier.

Got my second 3D Waves stand today. I’ll see if I need/want the third for the BOUM.

Also looking at the Torso T-1 sequencer. Looks like some are available for order on their site. I’m pretty happy with my existing sequencer collection, but that T-1 is kinda special.

For some reason I need something like this to inspire me to put in the work - just posted this - I know it doesn't really fit the theme of this thread but there's lots of bass so hopefully you won't mind.

Not to take anything away from the bass, which sounded fantastic, but the sound of those drums...so nice.

There’s folks doing some insane programming on these M8’s. Sadly, I don’t usually like the actual songs, but their programming chops are amazing

Thanks! Honestly, I wouldn't be able to do what I do musically without the two people involved in that recording. The drummer Greg DeGuglielmo is just so good - jazz trained (by the legendary Alan Dawson) but able to rock! I was so fortunate to play with people better than me, and he is one of the best I have played with. The engineer, Damon Burke, let me use his studio starting back in 2002 when I got back into music - I'd fly out to Boston and record there with Greg, then dump the recordings onto a hard drive, take them back to where I was living (either SF Bay Area or Kyoto Japan) and play with them! I probably keep saying it, but being able to record my own music changed my life in so many ways.

I've got a bunch of stuff at starthief.bandcamp.com set to free/pay-what-you-want. Nothing new today, but I'm about halfway done recording the next release, so... next month! And with a little bit of ambient bass in places :D
