the 258t VCO sounds great ! ...it has indeed something special.
this will become "a or the" classic within euro for a non TZ-FM analog VCO. My guess.
(also considering its price, ofcourse)
i´d even go so far and claim, the whole color/design sheme will become a thing !
depends also on ones own goals* if this has to be considered "a need" or not / * the mine lied completly somewhere else, haha / i´m quite happy in fact

me too. I am fine with multiple pickup basses but for myself it’s strictly one at a time. (Of course other people can make it sound good.)

From the demos I’ve heard, the 258t sounds a lot like my Verbos Complex Oscillator (or the other way around), but is a lot cheaper. Seems like a great VCO for the price. I really like the 281t function generator, but it might be too large for my rack

Was talking in another thread about trying to imitate a microbrute sound on bass and I think it could come close… of course the only bass demo I can find is if a guy noodling and doing a million note runs which is not how I would ever had it

I played guitar a long time too and there are certain higher harmonics I will put up with single coils noise there, but on bass…no. I just don't do noisy singles. It isn't timbrally worth it to me. I can get plenty of appropriate sparkle with noiseless single coil shaped objects.
I have some Lace Alumitones in my Fender/Warmoth Jazz. Ive used Delano Delano JMVC4 FE/M2s for a more aggressive sound.

I’m also curious. Been eyeing the new Pigtronix offerings.
I keep both volumes up on my Jazz if I need to actually be quiet, but will roll the bridge down to 70-60% when it's time to intentionally make noise. 60hz hum can be useful for extending reverb trails, delay oscillations and ambience in general when going through a few effects.
I spent some more time with the MM2 today. One cool thing is MPE keyboard splits. I haven’t had that on hardware before, because this is my first multitimbral synth. I maybe spent an hour messing around with trying to build a fake Rhodes patch, as there’s one song in my band where we need something like that. If I can do that I think I can just rock this and the Linnstrument. Which would be cool because then I could use the Typhon at home….
New power supply day. Fit nicely with my studio desk’s rack slots. It’s helpful to be able to turn each outlet on/off as needed.
...and I'm already having concerns. When the switch for one outlet is off, the device connected to it gets occasional surges that momentarily light it up. This is not inspiring confidence, given the value of the electronics connected to it. I think I'm sending it back.
For those asking (and me) about the space rip… this seems to showcase the range of settings the best without just noodling and bits. It’s on guitar but gives a much better idea than the bass video one does… I actually want to try i now.
Wise. Of all the things I wish I understood better, power would be #1. There's tons of marketing out there, but also tons of crap power supplies.
That was an actually decent pedal demo. I love that the octave glitching on double stops has gone from a problem (my old OC-2) to a "feature." That's progress!
