sorry for horn-tooting. apparently i'm getting my 15 seconds of internet obscurity over the last 6 months.

i had the good fortune of being interviewed by Darwin Grosse for his remarkable ongoing series of podcasts (i’m at 375!!!). i’ve listened to a number of them and have been blown away by both the people he’s had and incisive questions he asks. if you’re inclined:

I just ordered a Nordstrand Starlifter preamp. The parallel signal path and EQ options with a semi-para mid should open up some routing and tone options. Not a super exciting ambient device, but it adds options.

I may be the only person on this thread who likes space rock, but apropos of the P bass rounds and distortion discussion, there are some very nice bass tones on this record, which I am thorough enjoying.

funny story: when ken andrews went to college, he did a long-form video of my band for a project, part of which won an mtv basement tapes thing (yeah, those days).

he was just starting what was going to be failure back then.

obviously, they did *way* better than we ever did.

IMO Converge is easily one of the best bands in the last 20 years.
