Ampeg 810 into a 4-door Civic

I previously hauled my ampeg 810 across the back seat of an 01 sentra. The 8 sp rack got buckled into the front passenger seat, hardshell sat in front of the fridge behind the seats, merch was in the trunk.

edited because i was wrong about the year... not sure if its a different generation

FWIW I used to be able to fit an SWR Workingmans 810 into a 2010 Nissan Sentra. I had to put it in the side door, and really wedge it in there. It was not a fun experience, and it really did some damage to the doorways. I usually would just take my 410 neo cab to shows and leave the 810 at the practice space.

don't know why bass players don't buy vehicles for the bass player lifestyle.
I did, Bought an SUV in order to carry the upright. I just happened to have a tape measure at time of purchase...
For the record, after I had an endorsement deal with Eden, the gear quickly destroyed the suspension in my car. An SVT will definitely cause your shocks to say "Ouch!" That stuff is heavy...

Oh, we're the same age... And I'm telling you, sciatica came from lifting that gear. Now I have a herniated L4, L5, and I notice numbness on occasion. If you are set on having an SVT, you'd better plan on paying extra money for someone to help you move it. Also, if you're doing a residency, then it makes sense... If you plan on gigging more than once a week... Then sir, I must presume you mad. ;)

Going to the gym a couple times a week helps a lot!

I decided to delay the purchase until I get a new vehicle. I'm really going for the big thing even if it would be way easier to buy smaller cabs. My son can help me. The drummer, who is also my kinesiologist, can help me too... unless we fire him (as per TB rule).

Probably a mid-life crisis, but who cares! Let's rock!!!

Wish the best for back issue. I had back problems 10-15 years ago and it's not cool.

+1 on the gym and its not just for strength... my knowledge of proper lifting form has translated very well when it comes to moving gear.

Likewise - if you treat it as training yourself to move your body correctly with increasing levels of resistance, it can be a huge boon through the rest of your life.
I say this after fixed nagging back pain with increased core strength, better posture and better movement in general.

Indeed. I remember back in the day how I would try to twist my body into hucking a 412 into the back of my car vs now... where now I just use a proper and efficient form so its no problem. I carry my 8x8 swr cabs up flights of stairs alone... and its not about strength, its the form that that makes it easier.

A few months ago, I sold an Ampeg fridge to a guy off of Reverb. Drove about two hours to meet him halfway and he shows up in a Toyota Yaris, which might as well have been a go-kart. I thought for sure it wasn’t going to fit, but he said he measured it and that it “should” fit. Luckily, it did. So, if you measured correctly, you “should” be ok.

I am speechless.
