Ampeg 810 into a 4-door Civic

FWIW, I used to haul an 810, 210, SVT-CL, V4B, 2 basses in hsc's and a baby seat in a '93 Nissan NX2000. It was a sight.

I have a 2017 Honda Civic Si, and I can stuff a Genz Benz Uber 410 in the back seat. It is a super tight fit and I have to be careful not to tear up the weather seal around the doors.

I would have to say that, no, I do not believe an 810 Ampeg would fit into the back seat of my car. Not without ruining both the cab and car in the process.

I used to cram an 8x10 in the back of a 95 Honda Accord back in the day. Two basses and a rack. I'm so glad I bought a trailer!

Is there a hitch rated for enough weight to use a hitch hauler? That would be super easy to load into

Into a Civic?

Take the cab apart. Put the body panels in the backseat, and put the drivers in the trunk.

Arrive at gig and reassemble as necessary.

If the weather permits, you can skip disassembly and ratchet it to the roof of the car.

Trailers are also an option. The 810 may double as a trailer as it has wheels, although you may need to replace the bearings and avoid rough roads.






......man, I know you want an 810, but I really hope to god it's worth it for you. I wouldn't buy one unless I owned a studio or a venue.

You know the drill... you get your tax return, plus a raise and your kids are slowly leaving the house, plus some free time lurking on TB... you imagine things, like getting a new rig, an Ampeg rig, fridge included. Perfect for the summer gigs. Not that my actual rig is not ok but you know, I'm 52, in good shape, recently converted to P bass... why not?

The only issue is my actual car, a 2017 honda civic lx, 4 doors. My tape measure says it fits, very tight, but it fits.

Anyone here carry the fridge in their small car?

I used to fit one in the back on a 94 Cutless (Oldsmobile) which was pretty small, I had to take the bottom of the back seat out but it fit.

I do one cab on its back in the trunk, on cab in the front passenger seat (speakers facing the door) basses and head in the back seat with the two child seats.

It might fit if you take out one of the rear doors. That is the problem for me and my cab. There is enough space IN the car but the door won't open far enough to slide it in.
Not exactly the same thing though. It is an Accord and a 1×18".

I’ve ran into the same problem. The door wouldn’t open wide enough. In my case, when I was buying a cab, I removed the inside door panel and handle to get it in. Not something you want to do.

Funny cause all my previous cars were bought with gear in mind. My Ampeg wish is recent.

Advice to self : never buy a small car again

Yup I have bought small cars too, and especially lots of Mustangs.
But I've always kept a pickup truck too.

Nobody said we can only have one vehicle.

Some do. Like my first double-bass teacher, who convinced her husband to replace his beloved Alfa Romeo with a station wagon, to transport her 200-year-old bass.

The look on her face when I turned up with an EUB strapped to the side of a learner-legal motorbike was priceless.

When I bought mine I had a Toyota Tacoma, No Prob, now I drive a VW Golf and it has not left the studio.

In the spirit into which this thread quickly descended, I have to ask: why do you drive a VW Golf around the studio?
