Ampeg has made a proper cabinet finally.

If you study the Physics of things, you learn that best sound is when your ears are on axis with the center of the cabinet. So I'd say that cabinet is a tiny bit short for us 6 footers. But at least it's close. I hope they have hardware to stack a pair.

Takes a lot of milk crates to get a speaker with the drivers centered on my ears (I'm tall), but yes, that's an approach that, aside from the possible crushing my feet when it falls issue, would work acoustically.

OK, so it's 32 10's, and is paired with a 600w SVT head that's actually two separate SVT power amps sharing one preamp. These were made back in the late 80's for Jeff Pilson of Dokken (and now Foreigner) to use on a Monsters Of Rock tour. There are two of them...one is a CL style, one is an AV style. The AV one was sold and resides somewhere in France now, and the CL version is what Ampeg is apparently bringing to NAMM this week, with Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap giving it a good thrashing. Been a while since they brought it out...glad I was able to go this year!
