While it would obviously be wrong to provide details about someone's departure from a company (which I assume all of you can understand...), we can say that we will miss Pyotr. We are immensely grateful for his contribution to Ampeg. From the Heritage B-15 to the recent line of guitar amps, Pyotr helped make some great gear.
That being said, there is a great team involved in making the newer products that you guys like. One of the most important people is product manager, Zane Williams, who is behind the entire Portaflex Series, the PRO NEO Series and much more.
Others like engineer Rob Riggs have been are also critical to the "new" Ampeg.
So, while we will certainly miss Pyotr and his contribution was invaluable, we want you all to rest assured that we haven't slipped into some regressive state. It was hard work winning a lot of you back and we certainly AREN'T giving up that easily to the bean counters...

Unfortunately Sun Capital is going to turn this one into a looser or pretty much already has. They have done the same thing with Mackie and their other audio brands. Quality has taken a back seat to the bottom line which in turn will end up killing these brands. Loud already filed for bankruptcy and the inevitable is just a little more time.
At some point Ampeg will be picked up by another and hopefully rescued. This is a case where closing a factory in America and sending all the workers home for more profit has not worked out well.
Yes it was a typo.
Way cool, this is very good news.![]()
btw, I dont know if you saw this post (rumor/slander?) or not in another TB thread but I think you should see it so you can rebut the statement if you want.
Just to be clear - Loud Tech didnt file for bankruptcy - right?
A few years back we delisted from NASDAQ, but that was several years ago. LOUD is doing much, much better. All of the Heritage and Portaflex stuff happened after that all went down. No, LOUD has not declared bankruptcy. Investment in new products and technology are higher than they have been in years. Take a look at Mackie, another LOUD brand, who has just released a seriously innovative live sound mixer with another super innovative product line being announced later this year. LOUD is strong and dedicated to investment in product development.
This whole thing reminds me of the line from Pulp Fiction: "When you little scamps get together, you're worse than a sewing circle." Just a joke, of course. But, everything is good over here and there is nothing happening that will negatively change the course of Ampeg.

And just scale Bob's answer down for combos
The price drops were long overdue, BTW. Moving to Asia and charging the same prices as US gear was a very bad move on LOUD's part. And yes, while they are bankrupt, they're trying to re-organize and get back on the good foot. They fired all the idiots who ran LOUD before, and they have a new crew of idiots in place who actually seem to know what they're doing. In any event, I don't think Ampeg's ever in danger of being out of business. It's such a marketable name with bassists that it could even survive being owned by LOUD.
There was a good deal of talk about Loud filing bankruptcy and being delisted from the NASDAQ on Talk Bass a while back. At the time iwas able to search quite a bit about it on the web. It appears some of that stuff is hard to find right now. I de see a good bit of information from SEC filings concerning Loud which is all Greek to me. I have removed my quoted post entirely from the thread it was in.
In the spirit of quoting someone from another thread let's take a look at this one.![]()

FWIW, I think AmpegUSAs comment/joke was/is right on the money.

Some of us are feeling awfully important, aren't we?The man said it was a joke.
Red Planet - I only quoted your post because when I read it, it caught my attention and when I saw this thread it reminded me of it so I thought this was the best time to find out - and thanks to AmpegUSA and you now we know for sure LOUD has not declared bankruptcy. Thanks.
Now, some fatcats think they got it figured out, and can chop heads, cut costs, rake it in and assume they've got it all figured out, which history has proven over and over again, doesn't work, but here we go agian
