Both units did the same thing so I bailed and went a different direction, but I loved the tone actually. Have they fixed that? Seems like it couldn't have gone on for long and them still exist.

I'm not privy to Ampeg failure rate data, but I rarely see anyone on here say they have a problem with the PF800. Of course, any amp can break, and the 800 is no exception. I think you got hit by the fluke bug, personally.
