Would be interesting to prove if gain into clipping causes death sooner than clean gain settings at high master levels. Time may tell. ..

I may have posted this before but this is my pf 500 in action !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqem9JDTrAw
There are so many variations of the SVT sound that a question like yours is impossible to answer without more background. Favorite bands and bassists, for one.Good day friends. I managed to PF 500, great amp, I have a box 4 x 10 and 2 x 10, I need to get a good close tone to the SVT Classic, my bass is a P-Bass with flatwounds, any suggestions about some SETTINGS, is welcome.
I play classic rock 70/80s.

Except mine. What I do is adjust my amps until I get a sound I like without any consideration, or comparison to anyone else. The sounds you hear on a recording made by any other person through a stereo system really has little relation to playing your bass through your gear with a band, (unless you are in some kind of "tribute band", I suppose). Use your ears, and fiddle with the controls until you are happy. With all the variables involved, any settings someone may suggest, are pretty much meaningless.

What I would do is set everything to noon except treble, where I usually set it to anywhere from 9:00 to 11:00 depending on which cabs I use. I might also give the bass a slight boost as well. Generally that should get you at least pointed in the direction of some of those guys, though for Tim or Steve, you might want to use more treble and midrange set at 800hz.
