Was this what Jimmy was hinting about....

I am not excited as I thought about this. Unless they are coming out with a PF900 or a PF1000 head having an 800 watt at 8ohm option is kinda overkill and doesn't fit the current product schema. I am sure having a PF500 powering 1600 potential watts at 4ohm would sound great, seems like overkill to me. I was HOPING for a 410 model at 4ohm Portaflex. Seeing it was an HLF got my hopes up since all other HLF models are 4ohm. Ryan at Ampeg confirmed it's 8ohm only.

Have you guys seen the PDF yet?

Looks like these cabs go super low. They don't look like it if you go by the specs on the website, but the 10db down point in the PF115LF is 32hz, and for the PF410HLF it's 30hz. That's 410HLF territory. Looks like they're addressing the popularity of the SVT 410HLF and making it possible to make a 4 ohm 810HLF stack. I think they will be good news for fans of the 410HLF and not so much me, but that's OK....they have plenty of cabs that address my needs already ;)

The B15R's extension cab wasn't a fliptop.

I am kind of kickin myself in the ass though for just getting my 2nd PF115. I held off until after NAMM figuring we might see some HLF cabs, buy I guess I didn't wait long enough! lol That's ok... I'll have fun pimping these HE cabs out...

... I'm intrigued with the new ported PF115LF. I wonder how it would pair with the HE as a stack?

The HE is already pretty deep, IMHO. My 2 He's give me great tight bass tone and plenty of volume with the PF 500. In fact I have to dial the 500's Bass knob back to 10 o'clock or the rig gets too boomy.

Still, I'd like to hear the LF. I do love ported cabs.

But that tolex is so damn good looking :smug:

Still think I'm gunna go for a 2nd pf210, Id rather lug around 2 light cabs than 1 heavy one. Am I right?
Depends. I'd rather lug two 210's instead of a 410, but I'd rather lug one 810 instead of two 410's. But that's just me. There's advantages and disadvantages either way.

I ordered my second PF115 Sunday evening, it shipped Monday, and I got it this morning, Tuesday. Neither of the two new cabinet offerings from Ampeg do anything for me, as cool as they are, so I am stiil very excited. I intend to have two seperate complete PFs. I just love the whole Portaflex idea: protecting the head in transit! I have never owned any amp that had better bass tone.

Well it was a smart move businesswise to throw more cabs to the 410HLF crowd. Isn't my thing but a lot of people love those big lows. The PF115he has plenty for me, though.
