Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Received the RB110 today. Nice amp! I am happy with it. A nice sound for home use.

I tried it against my BA112 (v1) and the RB110 sounds clearer/less boxy. Really impressed.
Tonight I'll try the DI-output to record it into my DAW. I hope that will work out nice too.

Now I am really thinking about ordering the RB112 as well to give that one a try. Don't need the power but the FX loop and the Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo would be nice. :)

Yeah- Like the RB-110? You’ll LOVE the RB-112!:bassist::cool:

Any major tone difference between the Micro VR and the Rocket? I'm thinking about selling/trading in the Micro VR for a smaller combo, and didn't know if it would be worth it.

I think the RB-210 would go toe to toe with that VR- and you’d get 250 watts right off the bat!! And save on weight I think!:cool::bassist:

Dooooo it!!!!!!

Last night I noticed some hiss from my RB110. Not much but it's there. With or without cables and bass connected. For me it's not a deal breaker though. In the model specs I saw this serie of amps has a S/N level around 80-84 dB. Thats not very hifi.

Are there more RB owners hearing hiss?

I just have to play my bass and stop listening to the silence......:bassist:

Just got mine, too (RB-112). While the cover from my B-100R fits the RB-112 comfortably, the RB-112 cover is a bit short front-to-back to fit the B-100R. Too bad; the RB-112 cover has a nice pocket, which my B-100R cover does not. Maybe an RB-115 cover will fit (Ampeg does not offer a cover for the B-100R).

Yeah maybe

gig rig.

Anti vibration pads to tilt the cab up a bit. Broughton High pass and a tech 21 q-strip.
mostly run the rb112 flat (althought the pic shows a bump to mid, treble, and bass a bit less).
The q-strip I don't much use to tweak the sound but use as a backup if I need to use it to
go to the PA/foh.
Love it.

I just got my RB110

Im happy

Im surprised how loud it sounds and how hard I can push it.
It seems to break up and fsrt out nicely where I dont feel im gonna pop something - kind of self regulating power limit, lol

The 1x10 with no horn is nice and dark for my Sub Ray5
I was shocked to hear how good the headphone feature sounds. Pluggin in my phone through the aux sounded better than when I used to use a cheap mixer to blend my bass and phone music.
Actually, the sound is so good through the headphones, I find much more clarity playing that way than using headphones on my phone for music and playing the amp loud enough to seep past my headphones.
The overdrive chanel is sooo good. I want this chanel in a pedal, i like it that much.

210 is on the way! Bringing my 12 home from church, and playing on it a bit, made me re-think my rig. Which, for me, doesn't take very long before I jump right in. Hahaha. 7 pro already sold. In like 10 minutes. Hahaha. Going with the rb 210, and keeping one of my k212s. The 112 is going to stay at church, and never move. It's actually more than I need on that stage, but perfect at the same time. Rb210 will be my everything. Stick it on top of my K212 for everything else. Hella word.

I'll be posting my other K212 up here shortly. It's already on Craigslist and let go. If you're in the central coast area of Santa Maria, and want an absolute beast of a 212 cab, hit me up.

See what I mean?

These amps are just baaad. The 12 continues to amaze me.

Ya, sounding really good, man.

I'd bet money it happens within a year or close to it. That said, I've got to put in a good word for the BA line's Scrambler circuit in a separate pedal. Much better execution in the separate pedal than the BA amps. Some people don't like the Scrambler because it sounds a little edgy but I love it as a separate. But I think the SGT circuit has more mass appeal so I could see them doing a separate.

Yeah. I figure it's coming soon. They'll take a poll, and go from there. These things did just come out.

The headphone / direct out signals on these amps (I have the 110 and 112) are really, really good.
