Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-112 or RB-110?

Just picked up a killer Mark Bass CMD 151 JB on marketplace about a month ago for band practice and small gigs. One of the bands I'm in is an adult contemporary/deep cuts band and we practice weekly at the band house. These guys are more interested in jamming out weekly with very limited availability for gigs. At the practice space they have a Behringer BX300 combo, which just doesn't do it for me. I've brought my Mark Bass over a few times to practice and it just makes these guys wince, groan and moan about how they can feel the bass. Makes me wanna bring a pig nose to practice or install a Lee Sklar produce knob on my bass lol. I've also brought my classic Ampeg Rocket Bass BR-50 over which sounds killer with these guys but is a little heavy to move. They also love when I gig with the peg, im

Or feel the bass from it. So given I want to continue to play with these guys because I do like the music and it's fun to get some gigs with them even if it's 3 or so a year, I'd like the play with something other than that dang BX300. That said how's the new Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-112 and 110? There's a 110 for sale around the corner but I'd get the 112 if it would work in a band like this and possibly at some gigs.

The two Rocket Bass combos weigh about the same (around 20 lbs than your current amp). If your 12" BR-50 is powerful enough you'll probably save money with that sale priced 50w 10" RB-110. If you want a 12" speaker then your choice is already made for you: the RB-112.

Kinda wondering how the RB-112 compares to the old B-50R. Ever tried both?

No, sorry. I have an RB-110 at home and it's a lot more amp than I need in my place... with my neighbors. In retrospect I could have gotten away with an RB-108 or an Orange Crush 25, although I do love the tone even at low volumes.

RB112 stacked ~ sound nicer , meatier , louder than Micro SVT + SVT210 ...... and even single RB112 still handle Low B well without distort or fart sound.

uhm, if you're comparing a 50w 1x12 tube amp with a solid-state 1x10 rated at same 50w, likely you'll find the latter to be quieter. a safer bet is 1x12.

I'm not sure, how loud is this band if they suggested you to use a 30w 1x10 bass amp for gigs, but probably the amp isn't enough.

what kind of small gigs? pa or no pa? if latter, I'd advice to check if audience can actually hear your bass (not only see you playing) before investing in a new small combo. or at least, be in the window to return it.

They've got two 1000 watt 10" QSC powered pa speakers. They had me run the bass in for a bit but it fights with the vocals and guitar when they did that. We've done a ton of gigs with me using my B-50R but but it definitely feels better when I've got my V-4B with 212AV. The RB-112 stacked on a 112 cab is looking very tempting. Might be a good alternative to my V-4B on some gigs, especially with these guys.

Actually i bought the RB115 first , then i move to RB112 because i found RB115 sound too bommy and lack some upper mid to my taste .

I use cheapo effect pedal to make this RB112 stacked sound like SVT !

I had an RB110
Handled the B string well
Great sounds, perfect as a practice amp, great headphone amp. Love the SGT drive and how you can blend it in to the dry sound.
Got pretty loud for playing along to my stereo.
Not loud enough for a loud band.

The 12/2x10/15 models are really a minimum for gigging, you'll need an extension speaker to get full wattage

The RB-112 is 100 watts alone and can't use an extension cab. The RB-115 is 100 watts alone, also, and needs an extension cab to reach 200 watts. The RB-210 is 250 watts alone and needs an extension cab to reach 500 watts.

I've got the RB 112 and considering the RB210. Any thoughts between the two. Significantly more wattage and ability to add an extension cab with the RB210, although not sure I need that much as usually go directly to FOH (amp less) when playing most venues.
