Ampeg Serial Number Date Code

I have a cab in pretty sure I've dated as a 78 based on the speakers. It has a regular towel bar on the back and a rectangle 1/4 cable connector plate on the back. I'm no expert by far but your cab looks quite a bit different than mine from the back.

Any reason to believe it's not Ampeg? Maybe older or newer?

Edit: I've seen other three-screw mounting jacks doing some searching.

Have you pulled any speakers out to get the numbers off them? I pulled three of mine from various locations to make sure I was getting consistant numbers, which I was. That might help narrow things down. I am by far no expert and only commented because it is vastly different than my 78. I have no idea how many variations of the cab there is.

I dropped the cab off into the rehearsal space yesterday. Might pull a speaker at practice tomorrow.

I think that will be tge fastest way to get you in the ballpark. Im interested in finding the year on this. I personally have never seen seen handles like that on a slant back.

Yep, a super old Ampeg 410 that looks like it was made before 88. Note the 250w power handling, too.

It has Speakons, so it can't be that old.

I mean, this one sounds pretty crisp and punchy to my ears (by itself) - I've rolled the Bassman and the V4 through it (not trying to lift the SVT up there by my lonesome!!), alas in my living room. Sounds like it should rock the house, though there's no way of telling until I get it out onstage and we don't play until Jan.

pretty stoked though - two newly acquired cabs, V4 412 and the 810...

I can see myself not choosing to use a 410 ever again.

Yep. I've used earlier ones on some of my fly gigs and they rock.
