I didn't call anyone a moron or say that the screws weren't over-tightened, just that a with a phillips head tip size matched to the screw head size, stripping is very unlikely.
That's isn't necessarily true, unless working with a brand new Phillips or a truly high quality screwdriver (Kaufman Vintage and Natalie's Orchid Island, anyone?). Most phillips head screwdrivers aren't made all that well, and will quickly get damaged to the point that they no longer effectively fit the screws, especially if you are pushing them down into the screws regularly. That type of thing isn't generally necessary.
