Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

I've noticed a few people here put their svt pro 7 in a carvin sv2 case. I was wondering was it a perfect fit? Is the back of the amp sticking out? Is the back of the Carvin SV2 case completely open to the point where you could put a longer amp in there? Maybe like half an inch longer? thanks!

There's a half inch to an inch of space in the back. The rubber feet of the 7pro stick out beyond the case about a half inch, but you could remove them. The back is open.

C00 is reasonably stable with very few problem units. However, they are up to Rev. D00 which, by all reports, is completely stable.

Sincere question:

What exactly was the problem with Rev A, Rev B, and Rev C?

Maybe another way of asking this is, what doesn't Rev D do that Rev A, B, and C were doing?

There were a rash of issues in the power amp section in the early model. It would intermittently cut out and reset. Also it seems they were highly sensitive to imperfect power feed. Hope that helps.

Typical TB answer but I think settings are pretty subjective. Here's mine with my PBass:

Gain: 2:30
Bass: 12:00
Mid: 2:00
Mid Freq:1
Treble: 11:00

With my Jazz I just just flip the mid selector to 3 and depending on how I'm feeling maybe kick the treble to noon. Both my basses are strung with flats and I play through an 810 so obviously ymmv. I know those 410hlfs are known to be boomy so maybe try cutting back the lows? Hope this helps.

With an HLF, I'd start at
Bass 10:00
Mid 2:00
Selector 3
Treble 11:00
You may need to adjust bass to account for the looseness of the HLF bottom end, but find that level, then vary treble to taste.

I can't imagine they would do such a thing. If they did it would be a very stupid move. Just go to any of the music retailer sites and search for amps. The 7PRO is usually a top 10 seller.

The clean SVT sound actually. I don't need that overdriven sound imo.

This could push me over the edge.
I am very happy with my newly acquired TH500 which gets VERY close to my SVT-CL. A used rev D at the right price would make me sell other gear. Have liked the sound of these but afraid of reliability issues especially going used.
