I've got a few gigs (one was a 7 hour festival in which mine was the provided backline) under my belt with this amp, and it's a monster! Still haven't had to have master over about half running through a SWR Goliath III 4x10 (with FOH support), and have had no issues with it at all. Love this amp!

I used mine @ a private function gig last night. About 100 ppl, upstairs( :-/ ) function room at a inner city pub/restaurant.
Used - 7 pro & 2 Berg AE112's with '74 Fender Tele Bass for the 1st set & Gibson G3 set 2 & 3
Sounded terrific. I wanted to take the NV412 but upstairs...... & we were supplying foh pa so there were a lotta trips up anyway.
We had our new singer (1st real gig) as 1 of the 2 lead girls & also a fill in drummer who'd played with us 2x before. He played well. A nice groove.
Looking fwd to next w.end. I've 2 gigs at a resort on Tas.' East Coast. Accom & meals incl. for 2 nights

The G3's obviously more versatile-we do play covers... 60's & 70's funk & soul mainly, so the Tele was gonna struggle really, but I loved it.
Really hot pup made me have to boost the amp volume up about 1/3 a turn for the G3-which ain't shy either. That's how hot the Tele is
Really enjoyed hammering on it in the more aggressive songs & parts of. Definitely brings out the dirt in my amps.
But, you can contain it, there is a volume control on it.

I've had mine for almost a year now. Lots of gigs and zero issues. I pair it up with one or two PF-115HE cabs. Love the tone & power!

How's it go with one pf115? I realise u have to keep the volume in check, but do u find the one pf115 handles it with a band with the 7 pro?

I tried that combination at Sam Ash. At medium volume it really struggled. Lots of farting out. I wouldnt say its a good idea.
Yeah, obviously 2 pf115 cabs is a much better idea, but for lower vol situations, just wondering re real gig reviews.
For lower volume gigs, it works just fine with volume to spare. My main band has two electric & one acoustic guitar, a fairly heavy hitting drummer. Our stage volume is friendly and we have a good PA. For this band, I let the pf115 handle the lows and reinforce mostly mids & highs for definition. I have brought both cabs out with this band, but don't really need more than one.
Another band has the same drummer and two guitarists with 15 watt tubers. We have a crummy PA and reinforce vocals only. The 115 does a decent job, but I do have to pay attention to the bass setting on the amp if both six stringers are cranked up to 11. I have yet to have the cab fart out, but it has been close.
Bottom line ... smaller venues and lower volume gigs require only one pf115 based on my eq setting and tone.

Good to hear real gig reports with gear we use. I'll give it a go in a couple weeks. This coming w/end I've corporate gigs in big rooms-stages where we actually could walk around!!!!! A rarity for an 8 piece funk band

Checked out a Korean SVT-CL and a new 7Pro at Guitar Center the other day to compare them directly. Pushed them with the same Fender P and ran them through the same Ampeg 8x10 and then 6x10 cabs so I was isolating the heads for testing.
I've read a lot of reviews stating the 7Pro was the closest sounding hybrid to a SVT. And while it's not completely dry and sterile sounding like a lot of hybrids (referring to non-Ampeg hybrids I've personally owned in the past) I couldn't dial in a tone nearly as awesome sounding as the SVT-CL. I thought I'd post here to see if there were some general settings recommended to get that classic tube tone the CL pushes.
Some things I noticed about the differences:
* CL had a lot more low end girth and fullness to it, with both heads UltraLO on or off.
* CL had a lot less clear and biting highs which makes for a much smoother overall tone. I cannot seem to get rid of those highs on the 7Pro and is my complaint with most hybrids, there's always too much high end retained.
* I ended up rolling the treble to 9 O'clock on the 7Pro and then compensating with a mid #4 boost to regain some top end but it still wasn't as smooth and round sounding in the highs.
* There's not nearly as much saturation and harmonics in the 7Pro even with the gain turned up judiciously, not that I'd expect a single preamp tube to be able to emulate all the tubes in a full-tube head.
With all that said the 7Pro definitely has that recognizable Ampeg tone to it, particularly with the UltraLO engaged and a bass knob rolloff to compensate. And it's lovely to move.

Okay, I have swapped in a 12AT7, and am reporting back...
First - Don't do it!
Okay, I got this tube to try to get more gain and volume before distortion. I purchased a cryo and gold-tipped JJ tube, as I like the overall tone of stock. After swapping it in, I plugged in my P Bass with DiMarzio Model Ps and dialed up the gain to where I usually had it (noon) as a reasonable starting point. The first thing I noticed was that it was substantially quieter at the same settings than the 12AX7. Next, I turned it up until the clip light began to flicker (3 o'clock). When I did this, I got the most horrid noise I've ever heard from a "musical" instrument. It sounded like AM static with no station anywhere nearby, no pitch content whatsoever, and was still quieter than the 12AX7 at noon. So, I have a preamp tube that does not get as loud as stock, and sounds terrible when at the edge of distortion. Not a musical tube at all, IMHO.
