Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

Although the casing states revision "C00" I'd love to know what revision the board inside says. Anything older than a Rev G and The original person who returned it may pulled one over on where you purchased it.

I bought my 7PRO as a return (for $480.00) from MF nearly 3 1/2 years ago and it's been problem free.

If it is new you have a 5 year warranty on it. mine was just fixed it now has H 01 board. i would say make sure you have good cool air being pulled in there. from having to put two boards on this i think the problem is over heating. so if air flow is not good it might over heat. I have another 15 months on my warranty so I will keep on plugging away. it sounds REALLY good cranked and even not cranked.

I'm a scientist (sorry but it's true). Better means better. Even in the TH500 area the SVT7 tones were always sligthly better to my ears.
By better I mean you can achieve all kind of good bass tones with the SVT7. It is VERY versatile
TH500 offers less possibilities.
I will keep both anyway because TH500 saved a few gigs and rehearsals when I had issues with other gears. It's a very good head.

I never had a TH 500 . But I switched from a SVT 4 pro and that was a great head but just got to heavy to carry around . The 7 pro to me is very close to that in tone and head room and 1/3 of the weight . Tone wise the 7 is warm and tubes but can get loud and punchy too. And I like the 7 s compressor and the tubed DI.

Well, I decided to give the SVT-7 Pro a go. I also went the AMS B-Stock route, so it wasn't too expensive. While I'm obviously concerned about the reliability, this is mainly going to be a backup to my SVT-4 Pro. I'll give it run for one set this weekend, but after that, it'll probably only see limited use. Still, I'm excited to get it and I'm really feeling like after this, and after I find another PN-410HLF, my rig should be pretty well set and I will officially have too many amps and cabs...thanks TalkBass.:thumbsdown::rollno:

That's not a bad way to go since it has the full Ampeg warranty with the B-stock price. I kind of regret not having mine looked at before I gave up on it. The tone I was able to get was pretty nice. Since you already have a nice amp it won't be that big of a deal if you have to send it in to ge fixed. This was going to be my main amp so I didn't want to lose it for a few weeks while it was being worked on.

I don't blame you. I've been there where you don't have faith in your gear. It sucks.

Now that I've got this 7Pro, I need to figure out which version it is. The sticker on top says revision C00. Does that mean I need to send it in and have it updated or, since it's my backup amp, do I rack it up and hope for the best?

Here's a question. I've had my 7 pro about a month and I love it! But every time I turn around its moved during playing and is closer and closer to falling off my cab (a Matamp 410). Short of Velcro, any way to stop the vibrations from moving the head?
