Well my experiences with new Ampeg stuff have been very positive, and people will think whatever they want regardless, so there's a time to cut bait, and that's what I just did. And I typed it as a statement of intent to cut bait. Sorry if that bothers you PF, but that's how I rock.

I too am perfectly happy with my new Ampeg gear (PF500/115HE). In fact I am looking at adding another 115HE to the pile.

I do kind of have a thing about the "whatever" response, coming from anyone (I give my adult kids grief when they use it as an escape statement). but that's my problem not yours.

I love the "W" word, especially when it comes to folks who are intentionally looking to pick a fight with me. Not saying you are, but there have been several posts in this thread that merely exist to get a rise out of me because I support my bros, and no matter how dumb they try to play it, I know the truth. So a swift "whatever" is a great way to dismiss them out of hand

Anyways, I own a Rev C and have pushed the snot out of it. Loved it so much I sold my SVT-VR.

I admire anyone supporting their chosen brand, until it sounds like a Billy Mays commercial loosely rooted in fact? Then, JIMHO, it sounds like political campaign promises trying to prey on weak or lazy minds. Don't anyone take that personal. Just keeping the record clear.
All these discussions have been good to peak interest in this bass amp head. Invaluable marketing really. I took a trip to a major city and had to try one recently. Nice sounding head, did not blow up or fail to operate. Not my sound but a viable option for many I am sure if the bugs shown to be sorted.

While scrolling for additional info on warranty coverage for amp makers I'll give kudos to Acoustic Image. It would appear they have all other manufacturers beat (at least on paper).

Ran the amp for about 40 gigs this year with a P Bass and Genz 212T. Gain 12, Master 12, Bass at 9, others flat. Nowhere near pushing the amp, I ran Peavey TKO's louder 15 years ago. Shut off last night and will not return, all fuses good. Off to Ampeg it goes.

I've been wanting one to replace my swr750x. I'd be using it as a power amp for a sans amp. The ampeg would match my cab, be a backup pre, and cut the weight of my rack considerably. But like others have said it seems like there's been some issues with them. The issues do make me hesitate. My stuff doesn't match and the swr is heavy as hell, but it works.

Although the 7PRO had some concerns and issues with the early revisions it seems that fewer reports of issues have popped up for over a year at least. I would guess if you were to buy new most of the retail stock on hand at some of the large music retailers more than likely have the latest revision.

I have a friend who owns a huge MI repair and rental business and is factory Ampeg.

He said that the initial rush of failure of the 7Pro's and to a lesser extent PF500's have become better. They still get a lot of them compared to other brands; pretty neutral sample based on sales volume from what I can tell.

The early GK 500's went through a lot of revisions before they got reliable; they just did it faster.

first one went to crap after just playing with it at home never got to crank it even half way . took it back and have enjoyed it ever since. I know they've had issues with these and I hope they have it worked out. pushing 2 4x10he and I love the tone. I ve had the new one a little over a year now I think.
