Ampeg SVT 810 E - Made in USA vs. Made in China

I just talked with Ampeg about "models between 2000-2006 being made with OSB..." THAT'S NONSENSE!
Ampeg SVT 810e's were made with the Advertised 13 ply Void-free Birch.
The guy at Ampeg said Maybe, repeat MAYBE some cabs in the year 2000 were made with MDF, but's there's no record of it.
He also pointed out it would just be too heavy.
He said, just pull the Grill and LOOK. --It'll be plywood.

Well, whoever you talked to at Ampeg was misinformed. The use of OSB is fact through many years of USA manufacturing. As for the front speaker panel, yes that panel needed to be real plywood, since the weight of the speakers would tear the screws out. The entire outer cabinet was made of OSB....fact.
all i know is that when i plug in my bass to my SVT it sounds great and can keep up with any guitar stack you put beside it. i could care less if osama binladen made it

Designed and assembled, yes, but a bunch of the parts are sourced overseas. Ooh, someone just got double-twisted!
I do greatly prefer the new Chinese 810s to the 2000-06 USA ones.

Maybe it has martial arts training. The martial arts in Vietnam must have a basis in China. I don't know if one is better than the other but the Chinese 810E seems to have prevailed. Since it still kicks butt, you might be able to get a discount on your home insurance.
