1+ on the JJ's. I've not been disappointed with any of the amps I've repowered with them.

FYI. JJ KT88's will fit in the IINP but there is only about 3/16" clearance between them. I was concerned about them getting too hot being that close together but after doing some testing I realized that they didn't run any or much hotter than the 6550's in my other IINP.

I am lucky to own an early 90's Svt II which belonged to the late Mike Starr Of Alice In Chains. I found it for sale on consignment by his family in Seattle. It was sold to me by the owner of BassNorthwest who originally sold Mike his gear when Alice too off. He had also worked with Mike in the studio during the recording of Facelift, Sap and Dirt. The amp I bought was his main, It was the amp used to record all 3 of those albums as well as the tours. it still has the setting marks from the facelift sessions. Someone fill me in as to how I post pictures on here and I will do so if anyone want to see it. I actually used the amp in an Alice In chains Tribute I was in for a while. That combined with my white Spector...

I usually upload my pics to photobucket and then use the create link option (html link I believe) in photobucket to create a link which you can paste directly in you post.

I want to build a channel switching pedal for my SVTIINP. Does anyone have insight on the circuit or a gut shot of their AFP-2? I'm not interested in the Mute option, only the Channel A/B switch. My understanding is the original was a TRS cable. Has anyone looked at this or built their own?

Oh wow, that's awesome.

I hate this thread, I still miss mine WHY did I sell it? Whatever, I'll get another.....

Till then, I have two SVT II Preamps and they sound like a mini IINP thru my Peavey Classic 120 and 120/120...

I believe you can just get a generic single footswitch for the channel switch (there is no mute function on this model).


The inside of the AFP-1 is a small circuit board with a jack and a switch connected to it.

I was hoping to make my own. I am building a custom pedalboard and wanted to have a neutrik jack or something like that to go straight to the jack on the amp head and wire it under the board to a diy pedal. It it as simple as a SPST latching stomp and a stereo jack/cable?

What function are you trying to switch? You originally said, "channel switching" and "only the Channel A/B switch"
There is no Channel A/B.

Like a previous poster asked, are you looking to use a footswitch for the Graphic EQ? That's the only thing available available to control with a footswitch on a non-Pro SVT-II, and can be done with a simple latching switch.
