LOL! I've been jonesing for one of these V4B Reissues since they were first announced. JimmyM announced it first that it was actually in the works, then he posted the teaser photo of the prototype build on the workbench, then Ampeg did the official announcement while I was on vacation! Haven't been able to pull the trigger just yet for lack of funds but one of these days...

FedEx dropped off the new 210AV yesterday. As everyone has said, two really makes a BIG difference. More of everything! I only had about an hour to play through my PF350 and the stack in my practice room but I'm lovin the two cab setup! I didn't bother posting a pic since everyone already knows what they look like - unless you guys would really like to see a pic.

Had a chance to spend more time over the weekend playing through the 210AV stack. Absolutely lovin' the two cab setup. Played through my PF350, then switched over to my Tonehammer 500. I have the TH500 dialed up for a bit more in the low end - more of an SVTish vibe. Sounds awesome! I can't imagine any head sounding bad through these cabs!
Having problems uploading a pic to post though.

I think my comments are already buried in this thread somewhere but, I've been using these cabs for awhile now.
They sound great with every single amp I've tried. This includes: SVT Classic, Genz Benz Shuttle, Aguilar TH500, Orange TB500, Ampeg V4-B and my current/favorite Mesa 400 (non plus). I hate tweeters but I love boosting the highs on these. Theres a certain character with these that I can't get out of any other cab.
The Mesa 400 and 2 of these is the lightest/smallest/loudest all tube rig that I know of. It has just enough power to fill a small club without PA support.
Picked mine up together on Craigslist list for $250 if I remember correctly but, I would have paid much more.

just got my second one. it sounds monster with my Bugera BVV3000i!

Nice! PF350 is a great little head with those two cabs. My PF350 sat dormant for a year after a soundman accidentally toppled my rig and busted the limiter switch, but I decided to give a try fixing it, and it actually worked. Needed to reflow the solder onto the legs of the limter switch. That was it. 2 minutes of soldering and 75 minutes of pulling the PCB's out and putting them back in ;)

Ya, I remember reading about your PF350 fix in the Portaflex Club thread, IIRC. Great to hear that fix worked and all is okay. I really dig the 350. Plenty of power (for what I do anyway), simple effective EQ, and, as you say, great with the 2 210AVs!
I included the Rick in the shot because the rig has that classic vibe to it!

... just out of curiousity, it is kind of inferred within the thread, but it might be interesting to gather the info a bit more condensed ... SO, how many on here are running a pair of the 210AV's with:

... either a Tonehammer 350/500? ...

... or a MB 200/500?

... or an Ampeg head (which?)

... or ??

.. probably wouldn't hurt to identify the bass you are using (passive/active/4/5) and general genre of music being played ...

... for example, in my case ... passive Jazz 4's/flats through GK heads, either 400RB or MB200 and playing 60-90's and original inspirational country with one group, and 50/60's R & R with another ...

Used to have:
  • Ampeg PF 350 + 2x 210 AV
  • Ampeg Micro VR + 2x 210 AV
  • Mesa Boogie Walkabout + 2x 210 AV
Now I have:
  • GK MB200 + 2x 210 AV
  • Markbass R500 + 2x 210 AV
And I'm going to buy either a PF350 again or a PF500

My main bass is a 4-string active/passive Jazzbass with a p-pu in the neck position.
