Ampeg v4b reissue problems.

I've never heard the Ashdown - I bet it's a good cab though. The only thing I would be concerned with using a 100 watt amp is the sensitivity of the cab - a more sensitive cab is louder with the same amount of power then a less sensitive cab.
how would know if its a sensitive cab? I wanted to get a ampeg heritage svt 410hlf but the ashdown is a beast even though it has wheels it would be a pain to sell online...weight, shipping etc....... I think I will call Ampeg a call tomorrow :)
BTW the ashdown 610 says 900 watts on back panel

Sensitivity is complicated, much more complicated than the specs will tell you. Usually it's measured at 1 khz, which tells you nothing about other frequencies. I find it a fairly dubious spec, personally.

I tried to Google the specs - but I could not find the sensitivity for an Ashdown 610. Ampeg's website lists the sensitivity for their cabs. Generally over 100db is very good - but I have no doubt that your cab would sound very good with a V4

yeah I almost bought that svt 4 pro we were chatting about the other day until i asked the guy did it say made in korea which i was going to buy...guy said he couldn't see a place of origin on back. so i assume it was a stock photo and he never answered me back so at last min i pulled out of the deal...red flag !!

so should I not be too worried or do more research? I read a thread somewhere on here where some loved and some hated the ampeg through a ashdown cab but then read that the big ashdown cabs sound just as good as an ampeg cab

I gotta find that thread...someone said it was awesome..and someone else said it didn't, i don't think i should have a problem...if not then I'll just starve for a month and opt to get a ampeg heritage 410HLF ...ashdown is made in china now i heard..at least the heads,,,was never interested in them..they sounded like they lacked something. the cab i got i read on is tuned into low end output and made in UK. I fidure the ampeg/ashdown cab and a tech 21 strip EQ DI would bring out some nice crisp to that deep low output cab

The only problem ever with the V4B reissue that I know of was a handful of amps wired for 220 and mislabeled 120 that got sent to Sweetwater by mistake. But that was 3 years ago, it was quickly discovered, and everyone who got a 220 amp ended up getting a 120 amp as a replacement.
LOL wow man....well, I'm glad to be a part of the Ampeg family...no stopping now ! and thanks for all your support and knowledge Jimmy !!! I just hope I get the one that has no tiny issues due to productivity errors or etc.... but if i do you'll be the main man to contact :) ha ha ha :)

I can't do anything for you except possibly troubleshoot. Ampeg CS is still your best bet :D
