I've been reading through this thread trying to come up with a brand of amp I hate. I really can't think of one. I do hate land mines, however. Truth be told, I hate all brands of land mines.

I hate rooms that make my amp sound bad
And I hate club owners who tell me my amp is too loud even though i cant hear it over the audience
Oh yeah...and the best of all.
I hate jazz musicians who think bass players dont need an amp... even in a big band or with little wanna be elvin jones on the drums

i really cannot get into GK heads. they sound too sterile for me
The new SWR gear lacks low end conviction.
not feeling ampeg solid state stuff or the newer chinese made warwick gear.
Hartke is rubbish to my ears as well
marshall should stick to guitar amps
i would have to say that one of the nicest rigs i have played was an aguilar db750 through two gs410 cabs. really nice on the lows and really responsive when i wanted to get a little more dynamic

I accually like Hartke, but they look a bit cheap. Too much 80ies...
And guess what, I play a SWR into a Ampeg-stack, and I love it!

Yeah..............I wasn't a FAN of Hartke cabs & amps in L8 80's & early 90's, but it seemed EVERY ONE ELSE Loved 'em... funny seeing all the Hartke's in here now... Now-even tho I still play tube amps -as I've done since My 1st amp in 1975- I actually think Hartke make pretty decent gear-seems reliable & I've heard a few ppl get good sounds outta 'em.
I don't think much of ANY solid state amp- except the Mark Bass LMII...is pretty good( I got one 4 when space is tite &/or I'm real lazy!! ;p)
Warwick combo-dunno what model-had a 15" spkr small silver knobs & LARGE silver vol. knob- sounded sterile 2 me.

Actually, I hate Eden, too much overated for me, sound like cr*p
I like SWR (I know im alone) but those lil things rock

I dont play in bars or anything but I like My Peavy. It's not quite as anice as my old PRE-CBS Fender Bassman wish I still had that puppy.
Not fond of the Crate I borrow at my friends but its too small anyway so you gotta give it some slack. Other than that I havnt had the pleasure of playing that many amps for more than 2 or 3 minutes at the music stores.

I hate any amp that isn't an Ampeg. Hate may be too strong but I always seem to come back to Ampeg after getting bored with a GAS amp purchase.

I can't say I hate any brand, I've owned or used a lot of different stuff, some I liked more than others I resently had the chance to use a SWR combo, and it really didn't do it for me. Peavey is ok, but too heavy, I have a yorkville xc115, and it sounds great at low vol, but I don't like what I hear at gig levels. I think it could just be my old Acoustic 370 head. I hear ppl talk about tone, I beleave that my tone in in my fingers. well back to the thread brand I dislike? Anything heavier than 65lb.
Hartke - played a half stack that was supplied by the house, hands down the worst tone I've ever heard, and weak.
Peavey - won't play anything that sounds like the cottage cheese I buy (Pevely)

I totally agree, there is nothing worse than being forced to wear earplugs at every band practice

The worse for me was an SVT-IIP that sounded incredibly muddy but when you tried to add definition it would become very clinky and there was no middle ground between the two.
I still remember the frowns on the other band members faces whenever I would plug it in.
I hate a lot of amps, but the list is too long.
On the other hand, I love many amps from brands I generally dislike. I LOVE the Peavey Classic 400!!! Don't like their other stuff much, tho I bet those 2 new ones, VB-2 & 3, will kick a..!
Eden generally sucks too, IME. Still, the VT300B looks interesting.

Ampeg SVT with the matching 8x10 cab. i just dont like em, i have always had problems with hearing myself on them. I have played one of their combos though, and that sound rather nice in difference.
I also dislike SWR, not bassy enough.
I currently use a H&K Quantum 310 combo, good amp, but im missing my old series 6 Trace Elliot amp.

I hate my Crate bfx 50.
It was originally purchased new for around $400 when I was but a young impressionable kid. Makes a nice practice amp but its not nearly enough to keep up with a drum kit.
Admittedly I've gotten my money's worth from it but now its time for an upgrade.

I play SWR and I have no idea why you all seem to dislike them so much. I've tried lots of different amps and nothing even comes close to my current set up.
No low end or volume? I have my 400 watt SWR head running into my 400 watt Ampeg 4x10 and it's incredibly loud and clear with gut wrenching low end.
I don't hate any amps in particular but Hartke amps seem to be on the weak side.
