An amusing preamp on Ebay

I think it'd be more likely to get your ass up to +4dBu or so so it's able to drive a power amp, and provide some tone shaping. The compressor on that ass preamp has a clicky artifact that you may not enjoy.
 
I think that's an accurate description of the tone, isn't it?

I actually use a BBE 383 as my backup amp (with a Carvin power amp) so...no. It sounds very good actually. :) The Compressor is kinda useless but the rest is pretty solid. Provides balanced and unbalanced out at high enough level to drive a variety of power amps, has fairly flexible eq.

For the price (I paid 75 bucks or so shipped) it gets the job done and then some.
