An Interesting Article on Modernized Music Business Models

I found this article today, and though I'm not in a serious band, I thought it was an interesting read. It basically deals with alternative ways original bands are making decent money in an age where free music downloading has hurt album sales and record labels.

Some of you might find some of what it says interesting and relevant, and I'd be interested to hear some other takes on how original bands are doing in today's market.

After reading the article it just seems that musical talent isn't a necessity now, you don,t need to be good, you only need to be a good businessman.

Interesting article. It seems that connecting with fans is becoming more important and it's no longer enough just having them like your music.

Not sure if it's really the way of the future, though, or the way to grab what little cash remains to be grabbed in the present. Time will tell.
