i admire those who can lay it down with a pick; i can`t use a pick to save my life- on bass and guitar.
Even more scary is that there will be a lot of people here who WILL know what it means.......
I play with fingers only. But I really think the best players use both pick and fingers and probably their thumbs too. I mean, to use what will give you the sound that is called for.

I was talking about a lot of stuff I've read here over the years.
Best thing to say about a musician that you can't stand is......nothing.
There are LOTS of bands/musicians that make me want to puke but I'd rather talk about the ones that I like.
I don't know why you would leave these often helpful forums just because of a few losers. A lot of us play with a pick, as do many of our bass idols.
Play with a pick to your heart's content, it doesn't matter what anyone says. You think Paul McCartney cares about the anti-pickers?

VERY TRUE! Haters ARE gonna hate, don't let it bother you. I know some of my favorite bass players (even Mr. McCartney!) play with a pick! I've been playing for 25+ years & I personally don't like the sound of fingers on certain styles of music. I switched BACK to using a pick when I started playing heavier, more up-tempo music. It's all about what YOU feel works best for YOU. Music is art & there's no WRONG way to create art, anybody that disagrees needs to go look at a Jackson Pollock painting and tell me that was "wrong".

How else would be able to play metal without a pick????? Respect to you OP for having the balls to say that you use a pick.

and if your looking to start a good thread OP
you should talk about a P bass with tortoise pickguards, or maybe a good bass for metal, and a big question that never gets answered is, Does a 4x10 go good with a 1x15.
these thing get very little discussion and are rather important.
just out of curiosity do you think Cliff Burton is over rated?

I'm not a WoW player, but I play alot of MtG, so kinda the same boat....
I play alot of metal with finger. Now I want to find a metal pick....quarters and nickels suck as picks.....
