Anesthesia(pulling teeth) like songs

Guitarists can play any song and any one can identify them. People are able identify certain basslines, but are there any songs like anesthesia or other metallica songs where bass plays a main interesting role in a song?

Well, people being able to identify any song primarily has to do with what they listen to.

So someone into metal might be able to identify a bunch of Metallica songs (My Friend of Misery hasn't been mentioend yet and it has a signature bass line) but couldn't identify Love of Money by the O'Jays (unless they watch The Apprentice).

But here are what I would consider some song defining bass lines that people could commonly spot (at least to say "Hey, I have heard that before, what is it?").

Money - Pink Floyd
Would? - Alice in Chains
My Friend of Misery - Metallica
Dazed and Confused - Led Zep

Brickhouse - Commodores
Love of Money - O'Jays

Then of course you have songs where the bass and guitar play almost the same thing, like:

Sunshine of Your Love by Cream
A lot of Rage Against the Machine songs
Black Dog - Led Zep

Red Clay - Freddie Hubbard
Can't Turn You Loose - Otis Redding
Weepin' and Bendin' like a willow tree - Albert Collins
Too High - Stevie Wonder
Higher Ground - "
Stop Watchin' Your Enemies - Coco Taylor
Colibri - Incognito
Magnetic Ocean - "
Hold Onto Me - "
Stratus - Billy Cobham
Lopsy Lu - Stanley Clark
Life Suite - "

That was thinking about it for, like 2 minutes...... If not genre related, this could go on for days. You should get out there and listen to stuff. I 'spose I should listen to more metal......;)

Pulling teeth definitely has its tricks, all the use of triads especially the pulloffs involving them, also the picking and raking to an open string, cliff did it all the time... Granted NV4 is not really the same as pulling teeth but like i said 'closest i could think of', its a bass solo piece by a rock/ metal bassist. Cant think of more though :/
