Angine de Poitrine (Live on KEXP)

I wonder how deluxe the guitar player's rig is. The only thing I know is that in one pic or vid I saw, there was a PF500 or 800, but I didn't see a cab or guitar rig. I can see one cord coming off the guitar but not a second. And the clean guitar sound is not unlike what you get using a bass amp.

So could he actually be running his stuff in mono?

I saw them live, and from what I saw during the setup, I think he goes direct from the pedalboard to PA. I haven't seen any amp or cab on stage.

Very cool you saw them already.

So upon closer inspection, there are two lines coming out of the guitar. I saw some pics of their previous duo La Poexa, and my man has amps all over the place. But they're on ears and headset mics, and they apparently don't use monitors, so maybe you're right.

Now they've got a very minimalist and smart setup, probably because they've planned the whole Europe tour before they became famous.

The venue was super small, and there was no direct access from the backstage to the stage. I've played there before with my band (Le Supersonic in Paris), there's basically no backstage at all, it's just a bar. 2 bands played before them, and when the second band had removed their gear from the stage, they made their way through the crowd directly with their costumes, and started to set up the stage, only with the help of a 3d person. Each musician installed his gear quickly, then the guitarist installed the curtain behind the stage with the help of the 3d person, and that was it. The ratio "stunning effect / minimalist means" was most impressive.

Bet they have a crew now ;). It's probably a very small crew, but I have to think their asking price has gone way up.

Things have gotten so hot that tickets for their just announced Los Angeles show are $300, sold in pairs only. Now, I'm sure Ticketmaster or whoever is handling it set the pace on that, and from what I've seen of "dynamic pricing" of tix on big name acts(none of whom I care about), OR hot up and coming, the three Benjamins is not out of the ordinary, it can and has gone higher. I wouldn't want to be them due to all the hype, expectations, and scrutiny. At least it's not the usual bland stuff…can't wait for the imitators.

They are coming to Vancouver, but already sold out. I was hoping it wouldn't be controlled by Ticket master:bored:. Of course there are resale tickets available for stupid money.
Did I mention I hate Ticketmaster?

Just a little reminder that none of this is the fault of the band and their little organization. This is a major change in how they've been running, it seemingly came out of nowhere, and they're just trying to honor commitments they made before they blew up. Once they get a better understanding of what they have, most of these problems will be solved. Except Ticketmaster/Live Nation/I Heart Radio, which needs to be broken up.

I can't blame these (or any)musicians for making the most of their situation.
It's the industry leeches and scammers that have me sticking to smaller shows.

I think there's about to be a reckoning on the whole TM scam. They're no different than organized crime, the way they blacklist bands who refuse to play along.

Not to get off the subject, but it's tangential.
