It only took me 20 years to figure out what I needed, but I'm okay with everything now. Class D amps and neodymium magnets have greatly improved my life. Not to mention my back.

Fully satisfied with my current versatile setup for bassguitar with (LeFay and a Rikkers) or without frets (LeFay and Ken Lawrence) and upright, from singer-songwriter stuff to jazz, fusion and hard-rock:
Pre-amps:
Jule Monique for warm and/or with a touch overdrive
GML2032 for clean and punchy stuff.
Power-amps:
Bergantino IP112er (8 ohm, 500 watt) for 'normal' rehearsal, plus extention cab HT112er (4 ohm, 1000 watt) for loud rehearsal and small performance.
Crown XTi2002 for loud rehearsal and medium (2 cabs, 8 ohm, 2 x 475 watt) to large (4 cabs, 4 ohm, 2 x 800 watt) stage: 2 x Bergantino HD210 and/or 2 x Bergantino 112 and/or 2 x Euphonic Audio NL210.
And for an extra large stage (open air) everything which adds up to 2600 watt RMS.
(Took me almost 40 years to find out and collect everything.)

It took me several years to get there, but yes, I am very happy with my setup.
Nordstrand SC5 and Zon Sonus Custom fretless 5 most people could be happy with, but my amp will leave some scratching their heads or being snobs. Peavey BAM 210 combo with a Schroeder 1210. Plenty loud, great tone, and with the modeling, I can get any amp sound that I happen to need. I really need to get a second BAM, I'm always worried about finding a replacement if it ever fails. Of course, it IS a Peavey.

I've literally owned every Ampeg amp and 410/610/810 cabs. Great tone but the weight trade-off just isn't there. I went all Aguilar and I couldn't be happier. I have a Tone Hammer 500 (4 pounds of balls on steroids) and a GS112 cab for low volume stuff, a DB410 for most stuff and an GS810 for big stuff. The TH has a great line out for PA support. I continue buying my beloved Precisions, but my amplification GAS is a thing of the past.
Fully satisfied with my rig.
BIG:

Yeah, I guess I'd have to say I'm satisfied with it. Just a couple of good cables and an old English (as in 'model not sold in the US') combo amp, that I've had since '88. My Alembic Epic doesn't like it, though. No matter what I do, it sounds like it's being played in a mud hole. And the Carvin doesn't sound all that great played through it, either. So, it's either sell the Alembic & Carvin, or get another rig. What to do, what to do...

- I've stuck with my vintage (80's) Warwick Thumbs for a very long time [one goes all the way back to the '94] and they will be with me 'til the fat lady sings! I'd love to add a (vintage) fretless Thumb, a Hofner 5000/1 Deluxe LTD Model (quilted mahogany or indian rosewood), or perhaps rescue my old Ric (the friend I sold it to years ago, said the guy who he sold it to might be willing to sell it back to me). However, the one thing that has been running on my mind is a custom build I've had (planned) for a quite some time now. I'm in no hurry, though, I'm quite pleased with what I have now and I'm not the type who is into having a "plethora" of basses.
-GK MB800 (the only thing I'd consider replacing this with, is it's twin brother the MB800. This thing has been great so far [replaced my 1001RBII])
-Schroeder Cab (since it's 8Ohm, I might just add another . . . though right now, I really don't need to)
- A nice and tidy pedal board (I could add thing or two, but it's not essential right now)

Very happy with my backline - GK NEO 412 paired with Ashdown EVO II 900. Can get a nice warm grindy fat vintage tones and more. I dig that it's an unusual pair.
Super happy with my pedalboard which was revamped many many times but haven't touched it in a year nor do I need to anymore.
Love my CV jazz but would like to add a CV precision, IMO great workhorse basses. Maybe one day I'll get MIA Fenders but the money is tight and the quality I get for much less $ with CVs is nearly unbeatable.

Just picked up GK rb1001mk11 and a GK neo410 8 ohm.
Running a Honeyburst p- bass thru them.

After years of gear in and gear out I have become satisfied.
My bass of choice is a Fender RW Precision, burst option, ~5 year old Nickle rounds.
My head is a Mesa Blackface walkabout, and my cab for home use is a TC Electronic RS112. For shows and band practice i use 2x TC Electronic 212's.
My pedals in most frequent use is the TAFM, and my first gen VTbass.
The largest problem I kept running into with rigs was that I would play them alone and fall in love with the sound and then find they get completely washed out in the mix without significant changes. I find that this set up has the flexibility to sound deep and full at home, and then when i crank it with the band i can punch up the mids and add some OD and fuzz and maintain my position in the mix without altering the tone i loved TOO much.
That and the fact that all the old tube heads i was playing were too heavy, or not powerful enough, and all the other cabs i had would fart out the low notes or be an Ampeg 8x10 which was too big.
This rig is the best of all worlds, and very modular, 2 cabs for large shows, 1 for smaller, and the RS112 stays at home and sounds just like its big brothers!

I was 90% satisfied until I moved into an upstairs apartment. My kit is *heavy*, so I'm slowly rebuilding around class-D / neo.

I'm incredibly happy with my rig. I built a 12/6/1 and 12 sub using modified TL806 designs, and pretty inexpensively. They are not neo, but are compact and easy to move. I love my PF500 after years of gigging with a GK1001RB.
Until I build a fEarful 12/6/1 and 12 sub, and upgrade to a PF800 I'm happy. Lighter and more power always sounds good. I'm completely happy using my Line 6 five string Variax.

I was, then divorce ate it all. My satisfactory mongrel setup was an 8-lbs-even SQ-series P w/Fralin +5% and JF344, AIMS tube PA head w/RCA preamp tubes and Newark Tung-Sol gray plate 3-hole power tubes, and Faital 15PR400 in Music Man FH115 lined with a Walmart mattress topper.

Sometimes but I think its just me not my gear.I will be happy with my tone, quit playing ,come back the next day and the same tone seems to have gone away? I like my rig .Zon 5-1 ,Mesa Big Block 750 ,custom built cabs with JBL drivers. Iam playing thru a 1x18 cab .Not most peoples desire but it handles everything well .The JBL 2241 is actually built as a full range PA driver and it does full range pretty damn well.It is the driver they use in their vertec line array cabinets . I play bass not treble. Iam Designing other cabs with tens to bi amp but busy with work and kids graduation .Was a bit cold out to go out in the garage and doodle on the table saw this year.Everyone is liking the neo cabs but I guess you can call me old fashion .Whats the use of top of the line gear if the neo drivers are going to suffer from power compression due to heating up .I prefer ceramic designs that vent the voice coil . I do love my bass and amp .The Zon plays so nicely and sounds so good.The Mesa BB750 is a great amp -tubelicious rock tones .Many people have overlooked this amp .It is not light but that doesn't bother me much I usually just jam at home .
What makes you think they suffer from power compression any worse than conventional magnets? I'm fairly certain this isn't a factor. I've never noticed it and I use Neo cabs all the time.
