Now my set up is quite basic compared to what most of what you guys have,,,but I got it real cheap. Traded a Squier Precision Bass Special for the cab ( I got $50.. to boot) which turns out is a USA made Eden (250 watt) D 210 T. The Amp I bought New Old Stock Eden E 300 for $230 (CDN). IMHO it sounds really really good.

'63 AVRI Precision (with TI flats) into Verellen Meatsmoke pre into Demeter VTHF-300M poweramp into an Aguilar DB115. All tube from start to finish, no transistors or integrated circuits between string and speaker. When I dial in it just right, I can get a sound so warm and pulsing, so deep yet articulate, and so rich in those eloquent even-order harmonics it actually turns me on. I have stopped looking. Your thing is out there.

Ampeg SVT-350HP into a Peavey 1810 cab. Both outputs are used as this cab has biamp abilities. I'll sum it up as plenty of headroom!!!!!!!

I could use a lighter amp, but I've been running my Peavey Patriot through my Zoom B3 into a Peavey Alphabass into a Fitzmaurice Jack 210 for a couple years now with almost no music store trips, Craigslist parousals, or GAS for some time. Like I said if a lightweight amp came to me for almost nothing I'd pick it up, but I'm not on the hunt.

Prepped for gig.

Pretty happy here. Warwick 6 string nt thumb and a fender bassman 1200 pro with fender bassman 810 pro. Can play any gig any tone and sounds awesome with any bass I've used completely happy here. Doesn't mean I wouldn't try a Ampeg svt 4 pro running a 410 and 115 in an aby setup with my fender rig. Lol bone crushing nuts,shredding highs, and extremely aggressive mids best of both worlds.... I will have my cake and eat it too muahahahaha

Surfed through several "D" amps looking for back relief. Settled on a Mesa D800.

After 40+ years I bought my first EBMM bass in 2011, bought a second one in 2012 and sold 12 basses.

2 MIA Precision Basses, EBMM Stingray, Gibson EB-3L, Bass Micro cube for practice, Ampeg B-100R for not too loud situations, GK800RB/Ampeg 4x10 for high volume, A decent assortment of pedals. I'm don't *need* anything but there's a fair amount of stuff I wouldn't mind adding to the arsenal.

I've literally owned every Ampeg amp and 410/610/810 cabs. Great tone but the weight trade-off just isn't there. I went all Aguilar and I couldn't be happier. I have a Tone Hammer 500 (4 pounds of balls on steroids) and a GS112 cab for low volume stuff, a DB410 for most stuff and an GS810 for big stuff. The TH has a great line out for PA support. I continue buying my beloved Precisions, but my amplification GAS is a thing of the past.

Just done the same thing and don't think I will ever need to buy another amp/cab again.

I have an Ibanez Musician DS(c1984) with 3 band active eq. I can get my tone from any decent rig but prefer my Sunn 2000s and Sunn 2x2x15 JBL or Sunn 4x10. Enough volume and sweet tone for me.

Not a big tone-chaser here, although I respect and admire those who are. I just don't have the patience, and I have other things to do with my time. I buy quality stuff, a few pedals run into the front of the amp, hook it all up, tweak a bit, and if I like what I hear, I don't scrutinize it past a certain point. It's go time.

However, I do agonize a bit over the set-ups on my basses and guitars. But I have some distinct parameters, and once I dial it in, again, time to roll.
