Another First Build Thread.

Well I have learned enough to be dangerous, so I started my first build. I learned a lot reading these first build posts, so I thought I would keep it going. It is a 5 string, 34" scale. Cuban Mahogany body, African Mahogany neck, and not sure of fretboard, but maybe maple. So far I have drawn up design in sketchup, and started making the neck. I figured I would make the neck first since I will use it to route out neck pocket. Next step is routing for the truss rod.

Well it has been a little while since I updated here. But I had some problems with my jointer, and got that all sorted out. Since then I got the truss rod slot cut, dimensioned the fingerboard, clut the fret slots, glued up and rough cut body. Next step is I am going to try to do some inlay for the fret markers, glue on the fingerboard, and start shaping the neck. Here are some pictures.

The body with the plexi template.
