Not clueless at all. The feet got turned during an adjustment and hasn't turned them around yet. As for dampits.....in the south you need them.
I don't know of anywhere that you "need" to subject a bass to potential damage.
Search dampits on this forum, you'll find a wealth of information on why not to use them, and why they're a waste of money.

Okay, I've been involved with DBs for about 40 years. To this day, I would consult a luthier before purchasing just about any DB. I also value and appreciate input from the knowledgeable folks here. This is a discussion forum and we often go beyond the specific questions asked. Usually, it's appreciated. If and when it's not, that can be conveyed without brushing off those who offer the additional information.
