Sandblasted Awesomeness, I think...
@CaseyJBeing a big fan of the MM humbucker, and Jazz basses, I have to say this is awesome. I see some stacked knobs also, right? How does this baby sound?
It has an SD blackout 2-band preamp Stack knob treble/bass, then I installed a bridge volume/passive tone stack. The neck volume is original.
I have the MM pickup wired in Series/Bridge Coil/Neck Coil.
In single coil mode, it kind of has both 60’s and 70’s tone depending on which coil I use. In Series, it is in the realm of a Stingray tone, but isn’t exact.

I am jonesing for a gold sparkle Jazz bass...
Nice looking bass! It looks like the neck has shifted a bit...I've had this 78' Jazz for around ten years. It looks like it was modded in the late seventies; Dimarzio split coil pickups and an early Badass bridge set into the body... before the bass boat glitter finish was sprayed.

Obviously, the neck has been replaced (tuners are original) but again I think it was done early; no markings on the neck but it was new when it was installed (only screw holes are for the three bolt neckplate).
Just pulled it out of storage (I'm getting ready to put it up for sale), I'll try to post some better pics...

Fender's 2015 Limited Edition series was a sandblasted ash-bodied lineup of Jazz, Precision, Tele and Strat in transparent red and blue over black. The models used American Special hardware and necks and electronics, and were sold at the same price as the regular American Special lineup. 150 made of each color/model for basses, sold out by mid may in 2015.
