I get your point. I'm a huge fan of the band, but not the least bit impressed with the bulk of their following. The "look how macho I am" demeanor is something I loathe.

I have met a few really great folks at shows - most of them feel exactly like I do. I'm there to see the band, not the human windmill in testosterone pit.

They stopped playing 'Binge And Purge' years ago to try and deter the knuckledraggers from coming to shows.

The last thing Clutch make me want to do is go mad in a pit with 17 year old meatheads!

Me and my mates just love having a few beers, a wee smoke and a good old head-nodding boogie. Clutch ticks all the boxes.

Don't forget....ALL bands have their fair share of muppets following them for all the wrong reasons.

I've heard that they tend to attract the meathead set at their shows. I guess it's a throwback to their earlier stuff. I wonder if it's abated somewhat in the Beale St. and Strange Cousins era of bluesier music? I find it a bit funny because lyrically, Clutch is super smart unlike typical bro tunes.

Well, there'll be at least 2 old guys at the Orlando show. Both TenaciousE and myself are 40. :D

The only time I've ever been in a fight at a show, was at a Clutch show, while they were on tour for the from beale st to oblivion album. I worked the barricade between the crowd and the stage at a clutch show back in the 90s. It was INSANE. The singer kept screaming into the back of my head and it was making the crowd react. That's about all I remember besides the instruments they were playing. They had some sweet vintage gear!

Huge clutch fan here. Absolutely love em and what they stand for. That being said, i guess im kinda underwhelmed by their new album. Alot of the same sounding riffs with the manic spoken word lyric style. Neil is awesome but I found myself yawning through most of the tracks. I like it more when they play odd time riffs ala Robot Hive, which is prob in my top 5 fav albums of all time. The last album of theirs that I really LOVED was probably Beale Street.

Don't get me wrong, I still dig the new tunes, especially "Oh Isabella"...was just kinda hoping for something more.. adventurous?..either way still prepping up to see them in May, should be a great show!
