Any DIY pedal builders on TB? Strut your stuff!

i just finished a silicon Schaller fuzz (with NPN BC239B transistors). it really surprised me how close the earlier germanium version (with PNP AC151 V1 transistors) sounds to it. they're actually nearly identical sounding and very hard to tell apart.

The switch is used for switching between Silicon or Germanium transistors/ fuzz.
The green pcb is the SPS input / output, relay bypass circuit. It uses a microprocessor and you can set it for on / off or momentary switching. The red pcb is the fuzz duo circuit. The 200k trim pot fine tuned the gain and the 10k trim pot adjusts the led brightness.

One more go at a preamp for my banjo/dobro hybrid, this time all in one 1590XX box:

If I had a bass with a piezo pickup plus a magnetic one on a stereo output this would work pretty well for that too, although I'd probably implement a few EQ tweaks. With the Dojo the piezo mix brings in something closely akin to 'verb/chorus, which can sound really massive.
 
i love my original fulltone '69 on bass so much (the one with NOS NKT275 transistors that go for very high prices these days!- $600-$1K!) that i built an exact clone of the circuit back in 2018 in a smaller enclosure with a voltage inverter so i could use a standard -9V power supply.

since NKT275's are no longer available anywhere (especially with the correct hfe for the circuit), i made a second clone yesterday using NOS Tunsgram AC128's with the necessary hfe's (sometimes found in the early fuzz faces) and got it to sound just like my original and my first clone. I used a polished & etched 1590B2 enclosure with all top jacks and a relayed true bypass in this one:

I finished 2 PCBs from Deadend FX, they have been doing some SS/BS circuits recently, good stuff.

Here's a Zuperbee, aka BUZZZ, another take on the good old Superfuzz, with a few cool twists or extras.

And the Subarashi, aka TAFM; a pedal I failed to buy for years ... so finally, here we go.
I used a Toshiba 2SA93 for Q6 and a GT308B for Q7 (D9E for the GE diodes).

The PedalPCB Kewpie is also a pretty cool fuzz (based on the Mayonaise Fuzz, Umbrella Company).

I've got a question for you folks, if you don't mind.
I'm sourcing parts for my three DeadEndFx boards above and noticed something.


What do the suffixes mean at the end of chip names?
Tl074(CN)
Tl074(ACN)

Is there a general legend somewhere for this?

I've been building pedals for 15ish years, and I rarely post pics as I'm usually not happy with the job I do. I posted these, as they turned out "ok", and you'll likely see a theme that I tend to favor for design. I'm definitely not a graphics designer.

The big one on the left is an AionFX TS-50B. Turned out quite well, and maybe sounds a bit better than the three Rusty Boxes I owned in the past. Running on a stand 9VDC is a big plus. The knobs somewhat match what the Rusty Box uses, plus I love those black 3PDT's.

The smaller one is a one-off PCB that I got years ago from LPD pedals when he was posting on diystompboxes. He makes some great amp in a box pedals: LPD Pedals: Artisan-Built Guitar and Bass Effects Mesa AZ USA. The bass overdrive he made for me was based on the clipping section on a Fender M80, and has a blend knob.

just finished my last build of a fulltone '69 clone (i call mine the '67). they are very difficult to get right (selecting NOS vintage germanium PNP transistors for it). my original early large box has the NKT275' and is the most desired version. i had to audition more than 50 pairs (all with the correct hfe for it) until i got it to sound like my large box one. In this last one, i used an NKT275 for the first transitor and a NOS 2N270 for the second one. i also added and onboard voltage inverter and a relayed true bypass.

Added two more Parasit Studio pedals to my collection. Here we have the 0415 and 1985 guitar synths. 0415 is PLL based. 1985 is Attiny85 based.
I'm really liking the 0415 synth. It sounds cleaner and is easier to dial in than Parasit's other PLL synths; U235, MultiWave, Into the Unknown, and Theremin Fuzz.
The 1985 has a nice up octave, although it only works well in upper frets and is very sensitive to spitting out glitchy digital artifacts.
This pair brings me up to 200 DIY pedal builds.
